I have been saving to get a LV for my work bag, but feel I will never get there and am getting impatient. I like the look of the market tote, but worry about fitting everything. I generally carry my 13" macbook and a 1" 3 ring binder that is my lesson planner. Occasionally I bring home a math text book, but could carry that. Does anyone use the market tote like a work bag? how much really fits?

The Market tote fits a TON. This morning mine had my laptop, two boxes of candy for coworkers, plus my regular stuff like wallet, phone, etc.

I have both a market tote and a neverful. I, hands down prefer the market tote. Both bags are of similar size and will fit everything you mentioned but the market tote feels nicer. It’s made out of leather, and for some reason the straps stay on my shoulder better.

I used the Coach Market Tote a few times for work, but I have a 15" laptop and that thing can get heavy and misshape my bag if I am not careful, so I usually don't.
I do find that the Market tote fits just as much as my other totes: Tory Burch Perry tote, MCM Liz Shopper Project Medium and my Michael Kors Multi-Function Jet Set Zip Top Tote Large. However, where the 15" stretches out or gives a very box-y shape to the Perry and MCM, the slightly winged sides of the Market Tote allow my 15" to fit in rather well. The longer Market Tote shoulder straps also make distribution of my laptop easier on my shoulders, though the straps aren't as well padded/thick as the MCM or as wide as the Perry. You'll note that the Neverfull has a shorter strap drop, and this means you are concentrating a lot of weight in a small area on your shoulder. I would avoid this, no matter the bag brand.

You have a 13" laptop and a 1 inch binder, so I imagine it'd be fine, but I would exercise caution in adding your textbook. Not because of the bag wearing out, but because of your shoulders. You can do serious damage carrying totes like this on one shoulder repeatedly, and I'd recommend a backpack, if I am being honest. Without getting into it deeply, these types of daily activities are ones that can cumulatively give you a lot of grief (both pocketbook and body-wise).

I used my market tote for work, it worked fine but I found the weight on my shoulders tiring. So I switched to a backpack.

Capacity and durability were not issues. Now I bring the tote with a lighter load. I can no lomger handle a laptop on one shoulder anymore.
