Yesterday, I stumbled on a sample sale listing for Marie-Lise Lachapelle, Googled to see what kind of pieces she makes and fell head over heels in love. Does anyone else have any of her items? Winky will be revealing his latest acquisitions this evening (it was late when I got home last night).

Ms. Lachapelle was at the event, which was held at the AvaMaria boutique on Crosby Street in NYC. It was a real treat to meet her and hear about her designs and see the ways they can be worn. Her orchid pieces, in particular, were absolutely stunning. They are made with real orchids which are laquered several times to preserve them.

Any other fans of Ms. Lachapelle's work out there?

I just googled her work, its very romantic and almost victorian. I love the black diamond leaf ring! the orchids are gorgeous as well. its a bit "big" or statementy for me, i prefer smaller simpler pieces but they are definitely gorgeous!

Not everything was big and statement-y. There were some smaller, more delicate pieces, including a few that used lacquered rosebuds.

Gorgeous, I love organic looking jewelry!! I have a few pieces of jewelry that are like this, but nothing from Ms. LaChapelle!

I did get a rose bud piece which is being shipped. The rest will be revealed shortly.
