Considering that a lot of items are becoming more difficult to find online, I was wondering if anyone has any insight into how long it takes for items to be manufactured, and how long it takes from manufacturing to an actual restock? Has anyone bought anything lately with a very close date code?
I am wondering if LV is keeping stock behind and throwing out a bit at a time or if they are going extra slow to maufacture only a few pieces at a time

Louis Vuitton has very sophisticated manufacturing and inventory management systems that allow for very short times for restocking. However, given the limited production capabilities, growing demand, and growing number of items in the catalog, some items appear constantly out of stock. In reality, stores do receive regular inventory of high demand items but the website is not prioritized restocking.

Thank you for the input everyone!
Seems like its really quick with restocking with times less than 2 weeks.
I'm just not used to items being so often out of stock, hard to wrap my head around it being higher in demand than before, as it has been a brand that has been consistently on trend for the past decades.

I ordered from the site yesterday, wonder what date code I will have. I was secretly hoping to still get a last-years item for stupidly sentimental reasons. I might be getting a newer one then.

I ordered a mini PA in DE from the Swedish site this week that was delivered yesterday - the date code is SF1109. I've seen a few people on this forum that have gotten mini PAs this past week with "older" date codes though

My item arrived manufactured in the 52nd week of 2019! yaaaay! Ordered on Jan 17, unavailable on the site before that, customer service couldn't locate any in Europe. It seems like overall turnover from manufacturing to selling is 1-4 weeks

for higher demand items yes, but it may vary depending on the popularity and weeks of selling of the individual piece. I’ve had an SA/CA tell me that they sometimes send slow selling pieces back to the warehouse and the warehouse will, in turn, use the larger demographic of the US market website to sell the older piece sometimes 1-3 years after its initial production (date code).
