Hello ladies and thanks in advance for your help.
My husband just give me this bracelet.
Anyone have picture when the malachite change after being expose to water and body lotion?

i was thinking of exchange for the all gold one but they sold out everywhere.
I’m just so afraid the bracelet will look bad after I wear it.
Please let me know.

I don’t own malachite but I will say, SAs have always steered me away from it because of how fragile it is. I’d consider things like.... what is your lifestyle like? Are you easy on your jewelry? The all gold would sure be more durable and practical, especially on your wrist since that’s more likely to take a hit getting wet, etc. The all gold is the complete opposite as it’s basically indestructible.

Your husband has good taste though, the green really does look beautiful against your skin tone!

Congrats on your beautiful malachite bracelet. I love malachite but it is a very fragile stone especially if it’s a ring or bracelet. I personally don’t own either but I do own both a malachite magic pendant and magic earrings and I have had no issues with either. I have had the malachite magic pendant for a few years now and it looks brand new to my eyes even after a lot of wear. I got the earrings last year and they look the same to me as when I got them. I am careful with handling them but not overly so. Be careful with water and lotions when wearing your beautiful bracelet and store it in the pouch it came with when you are not using it. I feel that will help.

I don't own the bracelet but I own the necklace. It still looks amazing after a year or so of owning it. I wash it with hand soap and water when I feel like it looks dirty...no issues what so ever with the stone changing luster or color. I do, however, wait until my perfume and moisturizer is completely dry before I put it on.

I own the Malachite 20 motif and have had it for over 10 years. Yes, it has evolved in the way the stone looks but not so much that I notice it anymore. It is a beautiful stone, especially with the gold setting. Here are photos of my malachite 20 taken in 2013 & 2021. I have never gotten it wet but for me there would never be a reason to do that. Actually I have never gotten any of my 20 motifs or vintage alhambra pendants wet.

I don't think anything will compare in terms of looks.

I say keep it and wear it just for best because it looks totally perfect on you, nothing could compete.

You just have to be careful not to get it wet or get lotion on it. I wouldn't wear a malachite bracelet as a daily piece. I'd wear it on occasions when I want to wear the green. The solid gold is much better for daily wear, but certainly the malachite is a beautiful piece to start your collection!

Here is the VCA Jewelry Care page:

"Malachite is a soft stone distinguished by its green color streaked with harmonious light and dark lines. Over time, this stone evolves naturally and may develop a matte surface, which emphasizes its unique character.
As malachite is a naturally delicate stone, small scratches may appear on its surface. We recommend avoiding all contact with water, as this could alter its brilliance."

Maybe keep this and wear it from time to time and get one more piece for daily wear? I think your malachite has nice colour and pattern. Sometimes when you look for a malachite bracelet with intention, you might not come across the colour and the pattern that you like.

My husband told me this was the last piece. I really love my bracelet now I find it really unique.
I just found out about the different color and stripes of the malachite. this forum is really helpful. thank you so much.
