Magnets and Jewelry HELP!

I just received a 10 motif VCA necklace and the clasp sticks to magnet!!! I was always under the impression that gold doesn't stick to a magnet, however now I am reading on line that clasps have metal springs inside that cause them to stick to magnets. Does anyone know anything about this????

Just for the hell of it- I pulled out another VCA piece that I have (that I know is real) and two other random lobster claw necklaces from my local jeweler and they all pulled to the magnet!! It's something in the lobster claws...

Seems like you answered your own question the metal inside the clasps are what attracts it to a magnet. Nothing to worry about and completely normal.

You made me curious so I pulled out my onyx bracelet and there is a very weak attraction to the magnet from the lobster claw. I am sure of my bracelet's authenticity, so it must be an inner spring like you mentioned.
