Magic Mike

This was slight comical with great dancing by Channing, but the plot went absolutely nowhere and was pointless. Still an alright girls night out movie. Better with some alcohol first.

'Magic Mike' Stars Before They Were Famous

Before they took their clothes off for Steven Soderbergh, and the world, there were varying times in which they were all unknown. Some were athletes, some took to the theater stage -- not the stripper stage -- and others were simply high school eye candy.

Before Alex Pettyfer, 22, was packing on pounds and muscle for his hunky-yet-strung-out role in "Magic Mike," the Brit made lesser known appearances in... (wait for it)... school plays! He is said to have played Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," among other roles.

Channing Tatum, now 32, was an athletic Tampa, Florida, student before he was famous, running track, playing football, soccer, baseball and performing martial arts. Like Pettyfer's character depicted in "Magic Mike" -- loosely based on Tatum's life -- Tatum too dropped out of college while on a football scholarship.

Matthew McConaughey was voted most handsome at his Longview, Texas, high school before he became famous, later flaunting his cowboy persona as Dallas on "Magic Mike." McConaughey, now 42 years old, got his start acting on commercials.

Like Tatum, 35-year-old Joe Manganiello was also a star athlete in school, the captain of the football team. Manganiello was one of just more than a dozen students accepted into Carnegie Mellon's prestigious acting program. And, oh yeah, he was classmates with "Magic Mike" cast mate Matt Bomer.

nose job.
