Does anyone have experience with the upkeep of Vernis leather? What to do and what NOT to do to keep the Vernis leather looking spectacular? I just purchased the Vernis Mini Pochette and I just think the color is so stunning. I just love the very fine shimmers in the coloring and the gloss! I'm very happy that I pulled the trigger on this one and that my SA had it in stock!

I’ve had various vernis pieces for years and have this one as well. I do nothing special. I’ve used a vernis card case every day, over stuffed for probably 10 years and you can’t kill this thing.

edit…I’d probably not leave out in Sun but that’s about it. I should add I stick to darker colors for vernis.

It is best not to leave it in your car on a very hot day. Excessive sunlight, heat and humidity will cause damage to the vernis leather. Other than that, I love vernis leather. I have the Alma PM in Vernis - Amaranthe and there is something about the color and leather that I want to carry it in the Winter. I am glad that LV is starting to re-introduce vernis options now. I might pick up this pouchette to match my bag.

I mean other than not exposing it to extreme heat, like keeping it out of strong direct sunlight for extended periods of time, it doesn’t require much in the way of special treatment. I’ve had vernis SLGs for over a decade and they’re still good as new. Enjoy your new piece! It’s beautiful.

This is beautiful! Congratulations! I have a vernis clutch in Amarante. I don't do anything special with it, but I also don't use it very often. I keep it in a dustbag in my closet and I watch the humidity in there.

Good to know it's pretty sturdy! I will DEFINITELY keep it from baking in the sun! Thank you!

Yes! That will be fire to get this mini pochette to match your bag! It will be stunning. This color is just gorgeous! I love the shimmer it has. I haven't seen vernis in this color for a bag but I can surely picture how beautiful it must look!

Oh...yikes! I will make sure that doesn't happen! Sticky? Wow and woW backwards. Sounds pretty gross. Lol. Thanks for the heads up!
google patent leather and you’ll see it happens to every type of patent leather especially if left unused. And it’s not funny when it happens. There is no way to reverse it so I have to throw them away. I’ve regretted all my LV vernis. If I post pics of them here, it won’t be good business for them. :-s

Oh wow. Will do. Can you post just 1 pic? Curious to see how it looked. Aww I hope I don't regret mine. I really like it alot. With all the info from everyone hopefully I have a good chance of keeping my vernis in beautiful tip top shape!

I live in a humid place and admit that I worry about my beloved patent bags! I have a few moisture absorbers iny closet (like damp rid). In the summer even with the a/c i will likely need a dehumidifier in the closet .

The only patent item I have now is the Vernis mini pochette, which I will do my best to keep it damage free. I had a white and pink Ted Baker patent wallet that got INK on it! NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED, IT DID NOT COME OFF! It was such a beautiful wallet! :crybaby:
