LV Speedy or Balenciaga City

I recently purchased a Balenciaga City bag, however I don't love it as much as thought I would. I've been eyeing an LV Speedy 30 in damier ebene. Should I sell the bal and get the speedy?

I bought a City a year or so ago and don't love it either. Tried out a Speedy B and can't wait to get one! Love the structure of the Speedy...the City "puddles" a little too much for me. Selling my City for sure ;)

I would recommend you go in a boutique and try it on for size first and than make a decision. I really like the bal city really nice and love the stitching on it

I actually love a dark colored City way more than an ebene Speedy, I sold my ebene Speedy and kept a black City. But oddly enough I have a light colored City that I don't love as much as my azur Speedy. Lol. In any case I think they are similar capacity and function, and if it's not true love then by all means let it go. :-) Good luck!

OMG i'm so scared i'll regret my balenciaga purchase The day I buy it (soon), I Also have the speedy but i'm scared i'll get tired of the Balenciagas color, its waaay to sacky style...and cause it looks kinda boring ?

I adore my Speedy B. With that said, I have 3 Bal City bags. I like it more for everyday bc it is understated and believe it or not, it is very light with the regular hardware.

I use them equally. Sheesh... How useless am I?!!?? 😝

I have both bags. I was into balenciaga before LV and I got a lot of use out of my two city bags. I wouldn't compare either bag though. LV canvas is much more durable and I think will stand the test of time better. I do agree about the city being more understated. These days I've been favoring my LV bags more but I think both are good options. If you are not over the moon about your city you should sell. The speedy is a timeless classic and Ebene is a great print. Good luck!

I do love that the city is understated. It's a gorgeous bag but I have been really into LV lately. I think I would regret selling the city, so I will probably keep it and get the speedy another time.

I have a red bal city and a speedy b in DE.
I must say i prefer the speedy b more than the bal city. I won't buy another bal city again but I would definitely get another speedy :)

I am still holding myself back from buying the City because it slouches too much when it sits down thus exposing its contents.... I have the Part-time and it's too easy for things to fall out of the bag. I love my Speedy, though I do prefer the subtlety of the block color of the City... Dilemma - I feel you.

I tossed up over it forever. I really wanted a city and bidded on a few pre-loved. I went with the speedy 30 DE in the end and don't regret it. Seems much more durable and even though I don't base shape mine, it's more structured and I like that. I do still want and love the look of a city but ultimately it's a fair bit more expensive (in Aus) and I feel like I would get much less use out of it than the speedy.
