Hello all!

I recently purchased a Speedy Bandouliere 30, secondhand, and at first, everything seemed to be authentic. I am just getting into luxury bags, but I felt confident enough to purchase this one. Everything on the bag looks to be authentic, from the stitch count to the color of the thread down to the hardware. The only thing that is making me a bit skeptical is that the bag does not seem to have a date code anywhere. There is no zipper flap, but rather just a zipper is sewn into the lining directly. I've researched and researched, but I can not seem to figure out an answer. Is there a year in which this bag was produced without the flap? Or did I accidentally purchase a fake? Usually, even the fake bags have a date code somewhere, and a zipper flap! Any advice that could help me solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated!

Where did you purchase the bag? What do you mean there is no zipper flap??? Did you check under the interior pocket for the date code, lift up the pocket????

Is there a pocket on the inside of the bag? Older models do not have a zipper in the pocket just a slit. The datecode should be under the inside pocket on one of the leather tabs.

To clarify, the bag does not have an interior pocket flap that I can lift up. Usually with the Speedy, you would lift the pocket and be able to see the date code, so I am not sure where I can find the date code with this bag. I'm confused because to my knowledge, all of the speedy/speedy b bags have that interior pocket that you can lift to find the code, and mine does not.

There is not an inside pocket, so I have been unable to find the datecode. I'm thinking that this means it's probably not authentic? I have been really confused by this because everything else matches up with other authentic speedy b bags that I have seen, but I have never seen a real or fake bag in this style that did not have an inside pocket that flipped up.

Here are some pictures for reference. Hopefully this will help explain.

They don’t allow individual authentication threads on here. You must post in the authenticate this lv thread, following directions as set forth in that thread. If you don’t qualify based on those directions, you’ll need to hire a paid authenticator. Good luck.

Without saying anything. I recommend you to spends a few years learning about the brand, browsing the website, look at lots of close up pics. Then you'll have a general feeling that you can trust. Until then, I recommend you to ask for help every single time, because if this felt OK, I fear that there is a lot to learn.

Thanks for your help everyone! I was able to determine that it was not authentic. Thankfully I will be able to return it to the seller though, so it just turned out to be a headache. I will definitely do more research next time I purchase another Louis Vuitton, or just purchase directly from the store.

Hi!
Closing as we don't allow individual threads discussing authenticity, also only approved members are allowed offer authenticity advice/opinions.

Thanks!
