LV Refuses Watch Return Until TV News Gets Involved

I wonder which store this is. San Leandro is in the Bay Area so it might be LVSF. I have never had bad service there so I wonder what happened. Terrible they made this man contact the press to get his money back. LV should have honored the 30 day money back, but I also see why they said no at first if the watch was already adjusted to the costumer’s wrist.

Weird that he didnt realize before altering the band that it was heavy for him. And I would think the salesperson would have told him removing the links means no returns….Just like if a person alters a bag, they wouldn’t take it back. He should have made sure he liked it before altering it since it was such a high price item.…Wonder if there is a note on his account profile now?

I think it’s unfair to expect LV to take back a watch that he had sized and apparently wore, since he said it was too heavy on his wrist. I also think he was lucky to have originally been offered store credit. And if he’s such a devoted customer, wouldn’t he be using the credit pretty quickly anyway, since he shops often?

+1. If it is altered or worn, it’s not new.
under those circumstances, I agree lucky to have been offered store credit

Without sounding like a total douche, I have had buyer’s remorse on a Rolex watch I purchased. But I was too chicken **** to try to return it. LOL it’s at the bank safety deposit box with the rest of my fancy things. But I have to say, it’s worth 3x more now than how much I paid for it 15 years ago so really, it was not a loss for me at all. LOL Not sure how LV watches would appreciate though. I have had many, many, many thoughts about selling my speedy B and Noe bags but seeing the crazy price increases lately, I am glad I held on to the classics.
Also there being a note on this guy’s profile, most definitely! I just updated my LV app and they have my purchase history going back for at least 10 years! They even have notes on my returns and exchanges.

Voice of reason. I always think it’s wrong to return something you have worn. Because as a consumer, you do not want to buy “tried on things” at full retail. Don’t hate on me for stating my opinion. LOL Not on this site but someone recently said my opinions are coming from privilege. I just said it was having integrity. LOL

I agree with you and have voiced this opinion on the thread https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/people-who-abuse-liberal-return-policies.1048430/page-5

All of us on TPF are in a position of privilege to even consider bags, clothes, jewelry, restaurants, vacations

We have discretionary income.

It is in LVs terms and conditions that are no returns on watches. He was lucky to be offered store credit. I just love how some people think they are above the rules. Obviously store manager can make have their own discretion (e.g. if it was defective), but the onus is on the consumer to be aware of purchasing certain items. This is another reason why I can't purchase fashion jewelry from LV. I have very sensitive skin and money is better spent elsewhere for at least 10K/14K gold.

I want to know if he's banned now. LV can refuse service to anyone per their policy. LV should have stood their ground and showed the terms to the news. I guess it wasn't worth the headache for them when your company is worth 327 billion. Eating 4k for them is like pennies.
Yeah, pretty poor IMO. It annoys me that so many people experience quality issues or problems making a genuine return for someone just to decide to take it to the press when really they should have been refused the return.
