I am curious, has anyone experienced the cracking issue from the original monogram reverse straps from 2019 and into 2020.
I don’t see complaints, was it really a situation? Has any one had issues on preloaded purchases?

I have a reverse mono with the canvas straps which was from very early 2020. I'm very careful with my bag, so for me it's not been an issue. I have heard most of the issues were with glazing on the handles and sides of the OTG. If you go to ebay and look at some of the pre-loved OTGs, many will have pics of these issues regarding glazing. Are you seeing issues with your handles ?

I just keep debating about the black straps vs the getting a preloved w monogram. Interesting I hadn’t read about the handles. I was thinking it was the canvas coating that was the issue..cracking on the long straps. With all the other mono straps to purchase wouldn’t they be subject to this also. Maybe I’m confused, so it’s not the coated camas, the original long mono straps had glaze on the edges.

I still don’t get why LV switched to the black, so opposite.
The glazing issues on the canvas OTG was on the short handles and sides of the bag itself. There is a glaze on the long canvas handles too, but it's thinner. The thicker the glazing, the tendency is for it to eventually curl/peel/chip off. The newer black straps currently on the OTG is crafted of leather, meaning if there are issues in the future, LV will replace these at cost (unless it's a defect). With canvas items, LV almost never does any repair or replacement of cracked canvas .

I have an older style cross-body bag called the Marly pochette bandouliere, which had all-canvas strap. It has held up remarkably well, no issues, no cracking etc. I do believe this is because it was made in the 2002, and the canvas quality back then was more substantial, better quality, etc. Hope this clears up your confusion !!

I actually saw black leather straps have more glazing issues than the original monogram version. My speculation is leather stretches, if the owner put very heavy stuff in the bag and wear on the long straps on the shoulder mostly, then the glazing on the straps might shown wear more, the canvas strap doesn't stretch that much so probably that's why I haven't seen peel off glazings on the canvas ones.
