Question for the LV fans and experts and all the other fashionistas : this limited edition Stephen Sprouse Roses Speedy was incredibly popular about 10-12 years ago and was selling for more than the retail price on eBay and all the resale/consignment sites. Is this a timeless bag that never goes out of style, or does it look too dated to you? I still see people carrying bags like that and still see them being sold at consignment/resale stores and on eBay. If you didn’t already have a bag like that in your collection from like 12 years ago, would you buy and/or wear this bag now (if offered at a good price) or no? Is it still current and elegant, and worth the investment, or way too dated and out of style? What do you think? (In either case, I think it’s much prettier and much more feminine than the more recent LV speedy styles from the past few years). In your opinion,- yes or no?

I love it and always have. I have the roses pochette I bought new in 2008. Those who know bags know it’s an older piece. I’m at the age where I buy what I love and don’t care what others think. I don’t think I’d call it classic (it’s an artistic spin of a classic piece). If you have to ask, it doesn’t sound like you love it. This was one of my favorite collections. Current resale prices are way over original prices.

As someone who has the roses pochette, speedy and Neverfull I can tell you this is my favorite series. However, like Snibor I too am at the age where I dress for myself and I agree with her when she says, ”If you have to ask, it doesn’t sound like you love it”.

I agree that it’s not a “classic”, but honestly all my favourite LV collections are from years ago. I would much rather buy something from a collection like this than the majority of the current stuff. You’ll pay a lot more than what it originally retailed for, but you’ll also be getting better quality and arguably a much nicer item. Doesn’t really matter if some people don’t consider it to be in style anymore. If you love it, get it!

I had it and sold it. I had bought it preloved . I would definitely buy it again. I have the roses pochette and regret selling the speedy. If you love it, get it!! Don’t worry what others think. I don’t think it’s dated ….

I have purchased a few pre-loved Marc Jacob’s era pieces lately and just love them, both Sprouse and Takashi Mirikami lines. They are being sold at a premium right now, but over time I think they will get harder to come by in good condition. I have been looking at the Roses pieces myself lately as I don’t have anything from this collaboration yet. I think these pieces will continue to be popular, particularly as the importance of re-use and re-owning is growing in our pretty disposable world. And really all that matters is that you love it and will enjoy it - the fact that it should hold value in the future to others in case you wish to resell it one day is just a bonus

The Roses Speedy is one of the most if not the most beautiful Speedys ever made, pictures online don't show up how intense the colors of these roses are, maybe the ones listed on sites have faded or just the way pictured but I have one, the colors OMG so vibrant and intense, nothing like pictures online have shown.

dated? The Roses Speedy will be as much desired if not more desired than Birkin, Kelly, it can be worn to any places (other than funeral) and will be admired, can't say so to birkin and kelly
