Hey guys - so I am torn between these two bags.

The shapes of these bags are almost similar, but I do love that the LV Néonoé has 2 straps (one is longer, the other is shorter) and it has proper lining. I do worry about the value of a Néonoé in the future though in case I would have to let go of it.

What would you guys choose? A LV Néonoé (black epi leather with silver hardware) or a Hermes Picotin (noir with palladium hardware)?

Would love to know your thoughts!

The Épi NeoNoé is literally the bag of the decade. Perfect, perfect, perfect.
But a hand-stitched Hermès with a wonderful thick leather...

I have both but with pico 22 and emp NN. With mine, I use NN more for its shoulder strap, much easier to use. pico 26 is humongous and bulkier but if you could carry it well, then that’s good!
H leather is just incomparable and I’d choose that (clemence, presumably) over an epi leather.

I would pick NN. I love mine and I love the adjustable strap. But, I also never liked the Picotin at all so I am biased there. Even with the strap over the opening and the lock, it just remains so opened that it makes me uncomfortable. However, the leather on a Picotin will feel 1000x better than an epi bag.

Both are beautiful bags, but I'd choose LV.

I want both! Haha. I believe the Picotine 26 (biggest size) can be worn as a shoulder bag.
[Bumping because obsessed with this very question - can Picotins be shoulder bags] In the online catalogue for the current Sotheby’s handbag auction I just spied a TDF Picotin 26 in the yummiest, most buttery-looking neutral leather (Clemence Taurillon with Swift handles), & based on the measurements it looks like it would be a fabulous shoulder bag. Does anyone have experience of this modlel? I’m tempted here because Hermes tends to hold its value, though of course the Neonoe looks like a classic too…. @sparklywacky which one did you choose in the end? Or did you buy both? ;)

I prefer the Neo Noé over the Hermes. I'm not a big fan of Hermes to be honest (I know, that's blasphemy in this forum lol), so I would definitely choose the NN. I think it's gorgeous, especially in the black epi.

I’ve considered a picotin 26 and look at FASHIONPHILE from time to time since I’m it near a Hermes boutique and don’t have a relationship with a SA. The 26 seems to sell for pretty close to retail or under, which means the seller is not making all their money back. I would ignore the resell value aspect. Trends change too with larger vs smaller bags, etc. I do like both bags. I find the Hermes just a little too simple for the cost, and it sometimes reminds me of a horse feed bag (which is what it’s modeled after). I lusted after that neo noe for a long time but I couldnt see how the black epi in the neo noe shape would fit into my wardrobe. The epi seems formal, but the shape of the bag seems more casual.

I have a Picotin 26. As to whether it can be carried as a shoulder bag, that depends on your build. I would say that I have pretty average arms. I could carry it on my shoulder, but it isn't very comfortable. I did add a maxi twilly which allows me to use as a shoulder bag very easily, even with a winter coat. Some people don't like the busy look that it gives the bag. As is with all things Hermes, the leather is wonderful and very yummy!

I’ve owned the picotin and it is GORGEOUS and so easy to use. The straps are incredibly soft and comfortable and the leather smells incredible (yes, I know it was designed after a feed bag for horses, but trust me when I say you will be sticking your own head in the bag to get a whiff of that leather…. LOL!!). I have never had the LV bag, but am actually thinking of getting it since I no longer own my H bags but am looking for a replacement. You don’t need a relationship with an H SA to get a picotin. They often have them and you can get them when they are in stock. You can even get them online from the H website, sometimes. The Picotin is simple and understated whereas the epi leather for the LV looks more dressy and formal. So I think it comes down to your personal style and how you intend to use this specific bag. Don’t waste your money on a fantasy life so be sure to be 100% honest with yourself about why you need this bag and how you intend to wear it. Best of luck to you!
