So I been eyeing this shawl for a while. Finally gonna take the plunge but I can't decide on a color. For reference, I wear mostly black and occassional pop of color. Colors like beige don't look good on me, I need jewel tones or black. So at first I was gonna get black(like all of my stuff) but then I realized that black doesn't really "pop" that much. So i was looking at color "carbone" which is like charcoal grey in the pic or "Wine" or even red "Apple of Love" and so many colors are always out of stock on their website!
If i got wine color or bright red, I am not sure it would be as versitile as charcoal grey. Lighter colors they have, while lovely, not all that practical, because i would be always worried that I would stain it somehow.
I appreciate any advice.

Right, I literally just purchased one - i am very pale and never tan (i'm irish heritage), black hair and dark grey/brown eyes. I had the exact same problem and was unsure but knew i had to get one as they are so drapey/swishy and luxurious.

I was unsure between navy, "kraft" earthy pink terracotta and griege. I wear navy/black/grey/blue, literally never anything else. I went for greige in the end. I was worried about the colour being too nothing-y on me but it's a cool neutral that really works on me if I do say so. I'm planning on wearing with bright make up as a pop.

Personally, I wanted a neutral to wear with. I think carbone and black would look useful and if i had a spare £400 again, I'll go for the navy or carbone as I think they'd be excellent all year colours.

Honestly, the scarves are beautiful, not bonkers loud logo branding, just really pretty and luxurious.

On the UK website, there is a shawl called "Evermore" which I also ordered to try on. Its slightly thicker, a bit more casual looking, not as drapey, doesn't have the fringe edge but it comes in Khaki if that's useful and would work on your skin/hair tones?

This is me trying it on last night

ps - i realise i own the exact opposite of what you are interested in !! If none of the winter colours are completely right, I'm certain that scarves available after the holiday season , like in February/March will probably have bold summery colours like fuschia, lilac, neons etc.

Let is know what you decide..x

I know you already vetoed black due to it not “popping” enough, but have you tried it in person? I bought one last year and it’s one of my most-worn scarves. It is subtle in person but it’s visible if you’re close enough, which is what I was looking for.
I took a selfie in the office last year to show a friend. (I’m wearing a black Madewell long sleeve shirt that has some sweater fuzz and has seen better days but you know, COVID attire… :P)

looks very nice! I was just wondering if should get something different for a change because I wear all black most of the time ergo my reasoning for different color. There is LV store in my area so I have to make a trek to it and see if they have this in stock because buying online is just not the same.

omg that color is STUNNING!. Personally, since I wear so much black, i think i need a brighter color

I'm warm toned, and years and years ago I went for the grey version (don't even know what it is called now). I hardly wore mine because it makes my complexion look not so healthy.

In hindsight, nowadays, I would go for something more beige. Like Ecru or Natural as seen here on LV website.

I think you have to take into consideration, if you're cool or warm skin tone. Hope this helps. Happy shopping!:biggrin::biggrin:

I have been looking at the Evermore online (never available on the US website) I like the smaller size. I hope you post some pictures when you get it. Khaki is the color I like. Your other scarf looks great also. Thanks.

definately! this color is so gorgeous but beige always makes me look washed out. I am very cool toned with pale skin and black hair so i need something like either jewel tones, black, cool greys, or cool pastels. I am just leery of lighter colors because I always manage to ruin it somehow. every time I wore white i dropped some food on it lol

I think you should definitely go to a store - I ordered a couple at a time to sort out what I liked but it took a while to finally choose!
Honestly, they are super pretty and useful. You will love whatever you choose as it's such a great all - year round item.

If they don’t have the colors you want to try out in stock, you can always do ship to store for them - try them all on when you go to pick them up and return the one(s) you don’t like right then.

great choice Fibbi, they look a bit more hardy and less likely to snag! the kids had ski/board lessons today - we were spectating but had to help with boots etc, (i wanted to but) glad i didnt wear the shawl as so much velcro and zip action where the shawl could catch  :giggle:

I have this in black, I've had mine for 14 years and still love it. Big plus of getting black is that if you ever get any snags or pulls in the fabric, they will be nearly invisible. Lighter colors will show imperfections.
