Last month I went into the LV store to get 2 of my neverfulls hot stamp. One of them turn out great, but the other neverfull, my initial was a little tilted. The SA agreed with me, but the lady that did the hot stamping try to convince me that it looks fine, etc....but In the end they gave me a new neverfull and did the hot stamping again and it looks great. Then recently my husband bought a wallet and they helped him hot stamp his initial...he asked to hot stamp in the center...and guess what? When we went back to pick it up, we saw that it was hot stamp in the corner! So of course they had to give him a new wallet and did the hot stamp again. So now I'm a little nervous because I have another item I would like to hot stamp. Their service is great and they did take responsibility for it, but I feel so bad for them. I'd only did hot stamp 3 times with them and 2 times there was a mistake. Has anyone ever had this problem or am I just unlucky?

I never had an issue with hot stamping because the SA looks focused while I am giving my instructions. But if I were in your place, I'll be very happy to get a new item!
For both my neverfull and the wallet, we tell them what we'd like and they write it down on paper, and we confirm and sign it, so don't know how they can still make a mistake. Yes the new neverfull was great, although I did miss the nice even patina I had on my old neverfull....

I had purchased a pocket organizer for my brother as a gift from Paris. I brought it back to the US and took it to a store to get it hot stamped. Well, it turned out to not be centered, slightly off, and I was upset. The SA couldn't understand why I wasn't happy with it. The manager said that they would do a one time exchange, but I decided to just keep the one I got in Paris. I suppose my brother would have never known, but I would!!

On another note, I have a speedy that is hot stamped and it is perfect.

Oh I see. If that's the case, and also for other items that has sentimental value, it would be very disappointing. Maybe look for a senior SA or a manager to do it for you.

Murphy's Law is alive and well so I don't tempt it by having my bags hot stamped - surprisingly I had my Josephine done and it came out perfect, unfortunately the wallet was defective so Murphy got me either way - instead I would just get a luggage tag. It's interchangeable, affordable, makes for a great charm, makes the bag or slg easier to sell if I ever wanted to, and it's an easier pill to swallow in terms of replacement - at least from LV's point of view - should the stamping get buggered up.

I love the looks of hot stamping on a bag, but I wouldn't do it myself. I have successfully had a few other pieces done and it looks great! I recommend doing a luggage tag, key holder or clochette.

The wallet issue was clearly a big mistake on their side, this is why they usually document the hot stamping order in detail, so that things like this do not happen.
But the Neverfull is another story. As the SAs at my local store told me, that is the most difficult bag to hot stamp, mostly because of the angle of the handle. Many stores simply refuse to hot stamp them, because the error rate is so high.

I haven't had anything hot stamped yet, but I love this idea of doing just a luggage tag that is inexpensive and not permanent (at least for the bag that it is attached to).

I think some stores just refuse to HS bags.

I had a wallet hot stamped because they said it would be centered and perfect. I told them I wouldn't take it if it was off. And sure enough, the spacing was off. And they had to give me a new wallet. I've never had anything hot-stamped again.

Hot stamping makes it so much more personal and nice, but I agree with you, after my luggage tag, I'm done with hot stamping!

Wow I didn't know that most places don't hot stamp the neverfulls! I did call first, to make sure that they'd hot stamp it. The SA that did the HS did mention about the weird angle of the handle, which I'd noticed, but the initials still look off to me. The other neverfull that she did for me looks really nice and even.
