LV Favorite MM Flap

Hi all,

Did any of you change the whole flap (included the gold plate) of the favorite mm? Can someone share how much approximately would it costs to change the whole flap though?

Reason being is there is a line in between the bag which is quite obvious and the shape of the edge is a little off....

Please share to me if any of you knows how much it costs

I heard louis vuitton won't repair anything that involves canvas so i'm not sure if they will replace anything but the gold plate from what you mentioned. It may be worth taking it into the store and see if they're able to offer a solution. I have the damier azur version and am afraid of this happening as well.

I don't think that is possible. The bag(minus the sides) is one piece of canvas. I just had my pochette metis inside flap replaced, so lv does do some canvas replacements, but since it really is almost the whole bag I doubt they will. It is a known issue. Most people had success with having the bag deemed defective and got credit, which would mean loosing out on the favorite unfortunately

I tried to get credit for it but the CA made it sound like it was more from wear and tear and there wasn’t anything they could do about the canvas (mine had the same crease). They DID offer to replace the gold hardware on the flap for free though. I dropped off the bag on 9/28 and got an email saying it was ready to pick up on 10/15 so it only took about 2.5 weeks which was faster than expected. Right now, I’ve just been storing it with stuffed tissue paper so that it’s nice and full in hopes that the crease appearance will lessen over time. Attached are a couple of after photos - let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps!

How old is your bag? Jw because when I sent them photos and asked about the crease, they said it was just from wear and tear. I've made good use of the bag, but it would be nice if the repair people were consistent with what they tell and offer people.

@Cyn95 when I asked last year, the estimate to replace the plate was between $120-$200. I never went through with it, so I don't know the exact number that would be charged. That's just the estimate my CA gave me.

The purse was bought back in 2017 - date code says it was made in June 2017. That really stinks - maybe call CS again or go into the store and have another person look at it?

Mine's older than yours, so I guess they take into account a bag's age? My CA told me they're accepting in-person repair requests again, so I guess I'll go that route.
