Hi,

last year I bought the „Petit Louis“ necklace and it is my very favourite necklace because it is cute and tiny.

But after only 11 months the gold colour of the „LV“ has faded / is away.

In the store, they told me, this is normal and only fashion jewellery. :( I should pay more for genuine jewellery and they could not do anything.

Anyone had this problem with fashion jewellery?
What do you do with the colour fading?
Is there a possibility that a jeweller can do anything? It looks so cheap now. :(

Sorry this happened, but fashion jewelry tends to tarnish. Try not to get it wet and definitely no perfume or lotion. I'm really close to my CA and he said that he's seen so many tarnishing with fashion jewelry. It's normal wear and tear. LV will not repair or exchange. I know it sucks.

Thank you. Is there any other possibility? Can a jeweller do anything so that the colour is gold again?
I texted your pic to my CA and he said that there's nothing that LV can do. You can try to take it to a jeweler and maybe they can plate it in 14k. I'm not sure how that works. It doesn't hurt to ask.

This is one thing that stinks about LV fashion jewelry. Mine hasn’t done it yet, but it’s only a month or so old. When the time comes I will probably just get a metallic gold paint for metal and paint it. I had to do that with a link on a bag with SHW, and it’s been 2 years and it still looks great. Blends right in.

I literally just bought the NANOGRAM BRACELET yesterday, and I asked about the tarnishing because I already had to send my Melie bag back to have the hardware replaced due to the brass going dull and tarnishing. The sales rep told me that they used to have this problem, but that recently (this year) they started a new process with a newer material to try to eliminate this problem. Either way, I will definitely have my jeweler dip mine if it starts to go south. I will try to be careful about getting it wet. It's the only piece of non-fine jewelry I own/wear, so it's a habit I have to get into! I would love this to last because it it adorable!
