I got this Cabas Mezzo from LV in Seattle earlier this week. I was looking at it earlier and it looks like the panels of mono canvas on each side of the bag (that connect to the bottom panel) are not lined up the same on each side. In fact, one side even looks a little crooked. I don't personally care, because the bag looks good to me otherwise, but I don't want this to be called into question later if I get tired of it and want to sell it. Is this common with LV? I know if I saw this I might question the authenticity. When I was at the LV boutique they only had two of these bags in stock and the other one had a crease on the bottom leather panel, so I took this one.

Opinions?? Thanks so much!!!

Here are photos of the mono, each side (I hope this makes sense?)

I'm not a LV expert so I'm not sure if its common. However, since its a pricey item I would expect it to be superior quality. In my opinion, the uneven seams are a pretty big flaw. The bag does look perfect otherwise but since you just got the bag and already noticed the issue I think you should have the store exchange it for another one.

Thanks for bringing this issue up, I will be at the LV store probably buying my first bag tonight. Now I will be inspecting the hell out of it

I have had 2 Mezzos & with both of them, the sides were off *just a bit*. It never really bothered me but I think it is typical of alot of the mezzos & pianos.

Thanks for the replies! I called the store and they were really nice. I am going to go in and look at what they have, apparently they have a couple more in stock. If I can't find one that is lined up decent, I guess I'll have to wait until they get more.

I went to the store in Seattle (again) and they told me something interesting. They said that the way they sew the bags varies and they do it for a reason. To keep counterfeiters guessing, since no two bags will be alike. I don't if that's really true, but I found it interesting.

I looked around the store some more and the SA was super nice and really patient. I was really torn about whether to keep the bag (in spite of the crooked stuff) or get something else. I looked at a bunch of different things and it finally occurred to me that some smaller mono goods would be more practical for me right now. I have a lot of bags, but needed some smaller peices. So I ended up with a mono pochette and the super cute pochette marelle!

I shop at the Seattle LV store all the time and don't feel the need to question anything from there because I am not shopping from ebay or a private seller.......I've got to trust the source itself and that's why I buy from the LV store in the first place, for trust.

Coldplaylover,
You are so right. I have been in a lot of LV boutiques over the years, but I've found the staff at the store in Seattle to be very friendly. I honestly have never been treated rudely any of the times I've been there.

I would like to make a suggestion. When you buy bag, ask the SA to bring out a couple to compare to sewing. After a while you can see some bags seems "used" because the straps are wrinkled. So buy those.
