I like the by these way better. I like the compartments and I've owned the empriente speedy and it can get heavy and when the leather gets soft it loses it's structure.

Thanks for the feedback. I like the single compartment of the Speedy more. Bummer about the loss of structure, though - is there any way to have the Speedy maintain its structure? Will an organizer help?

An organizer will help but the seams will look different over time. I suggest you go to fashionphile and take a look at their pre-owned empreinte speedies to see what they look like after being used.

Thanks for the input. I did exactly as you suggested. Not sure I like how it softens with age. Hmmm......

Look at the empriente mazarine. It has a hard structured bottom that won't deform. It is gorgeous! I'm craving that bag.
It is, indeed, a beautiful bag. Will try it on at the store when I go next

I'd choose the LV empreiente speedy
Thanks for the feedback. Any specific reason you prefer the Speedy?

I love LV bags and have enjoyed my empreinte speedy for several years now - it's a favorite of mine!

A friend has the LV Empriente Speedy while I have the Fendi By The Way bag. We each prefer our own bag. She likes the monogram imprinted into the leather on the Speedy. I like that my Fendi is understated...no will know it is a Fendi unless they are familiar with designer bags. She likes that her Speedy has gotten slouchy. While I like slouchy bags (I am a major Balenciaga lover), I do not like the look of the saggy Speedy bags. I like that my By The Way bag has kept it's structure. Now, one thing I really don't like about her Empriente Speedy is the weight. It is a fairly heavy bag compared to my Fendi. Both bags have more than one carrying option though the By the Way bag beats out the Speedy in the number of carrying options. The By The Way bag can be carried on the shoulder hitting about rib cage on shortest strap setting. It can be carried cross-body for a petite person/longer shoulder bag for a taller person on the longest setting. The strap is also super easy to adjust. The strap is removable so it can be carried with the two handles and it can also be carried as a clutch bag. The Speedy can be carried with the longer shoulder strap or by the top handles but the By The Way bag has more carrying options overall. Since I like clutch bags, I really like that the By The Way bag can convert to a clutch bag.

Thank you for your detailed response. I really appreciate it! If I can ask a follow on question - how old is your Fendi? Do you have to baby it (i.e. be careful not to have it bump into things/people etc)?

I have had my Fendi since last year. I don't baby the bag but don't beat it around either. IMO, it is a sturdy bag, and it still looks great over ten months later. That said I have a closet full of bags so I rotate my bags in and out fairly often. I don't use it daily but I did carry non-stop for about a month after I got it with no issues. And have carried it multiple times since then.
