LV Coussin PM in Gold

Hi everyone! I'm here to get some opinions! Hopefully all that are reading this have something to bring to the table. All opinions and comments are encouraged and welcomed!

I am late to the game as I JUST discovered the "new" LV Coussin PM bag. I saw it the first time just a few days ago. I will be getting mine tomorrow.

Ok, here is what I would like to get feed back from you on. The LV Coussin PM in the GOLD embossed leather lambskin with the silver chunky chain strap. What do you think about the Coussin PM in GOLD leather? Is it just too over the top to use as a "casual" bag? I know we all are different in what we do but I still wanted to get your feedback. Another color of the bag I was considering is cream. I decided on the gold but wonder if I should get the cream instead. Does anyone have any knowledge on how to care for gold lambskin? I'm just wondering if the gold will look smudgy as it ages or will it crack? Isn't leather dyed differently when it's gold?

ALSO has anyone noticed that on some Coussin bags the embossing is super deep while others are not as deep? Even the SA noticed it. The LV store that I was in has 2 Coussin's so I was able to compare. I attached pics so you know what I mean. Do you see it?

Congratulations!! I just got mine late too (in September, before price hike).
It’s not too “over the top” if you use the fabric strap. Looks edgy I think. Colour wise, I think just go for what appeals to you the most. I got the black because it’s a low maintenance colour and still looks classy. I use it with the straps as an “everyday” bag.

I saw this YouTuber convincing me I’m getting lotsa value for this bag (multiple ways of carrying, strap and chain or separately) and she even wear the chain as a necklace as well. I think I saw the silver chain necklace sold on LV website but not the gold one. So, your silver chain would really look like you have a necklace too!

I have not much idea on caring for the leather too. I disallow my husband and kids to caress my bag (is that considered part of caring for it?) but they would keep insisting that it’s soft and puffy and beckoning them to touch it!!

Yes, I definitely see the difference in the embossing. I prefer the deeper embossing in the first picture. Similar to the Empriente line, I guess the embossing varies, and it seems that most prefer deeper embossing.

My feedback: I absolutely love this color! You can take it from casual with the thick crossbody to very dressy with the silver chain.

As far as the durability of the metallic leather, hopefully someone who's had it for a while can chime in.

Did you end up taking anything home?

Uuugh! I heard about the price increase! Yuck! I'm paying the same price the MM was! The SA did tell me that the gold wasn't available at the previous price as it was just launched so it did take SOME of the sting out of paying MORE for an item that was recently less. Lol

Yes I saw 2 youtubers speaking on wearing the chain as a necklace. Why purchase the official necklace when it's on my bag right!? I must admit, the chain alone is what drew me to the bag. Once i had viewed and tried on the bag in the boutique, I was then drawn to everything else about the bag. I'm looking forward to receiving it tomorrow. ☺ This bag will be the last bag for this year and it needs to be for next year as well! Wish me much success in that! Hahaha!

Hi there! I actually pick up my bag tomorrow! Yahoo! I went to LV to look for the Toiletry 26 (I can not find that anywhere) and by doing so I saw the Coussin, which I never knew existed! I was drawn by that beautiful chain. The gold bag was just stunning. $4k is not in my budget so I decided not to get it. After I got home I kept thinking about it and watching YouTube videos on the bag! Lol. I tried searching for someone with the gold version but no luck. Hopefully I don't regret getting gold. I need to find out if leather conditioner is ok on a gold leather bag. Wow so you noticed the difference in the embossing as well. I'm getting mine from a dept store in order to get points on my purchase! I may as well EARN SOMETHING back. Lol Than you for your input!

I think it depends where the bag was made for the embossing ? I thought my Cream wasn't as deep (Made in Italy), the black was better (made in France). I exchanged my cream for the black and there is a Coussin Club on tpf.
I originally thought the silver chain with the gold leather looked a little off, but I actually like it now. I think gold leather and gold chain kind of clash so it's a good contrast with silver.
My tip for you is NOT to overstuff the bag so the embossing can maintain as long as possible.

I'm just holding out hope they will come out with an MM with silver chain....

Just proves that their quality is LACKING! I hope the gold one I'm picking up tomorrow is embossed to my liking. I wanted the SA to take a ton of pics for me but I was too embarrassed to ask. Lol. I already feel as if I'm over the top! Lol. I'm driving about 1.5 hrs to get it. I don't mind the drive, it's a little get away for me. I just hope I'm not disappointed. One of the SAs at a different LV location added the "necklace" type bag charm as a chain extender and it looked really cool. I don't know what that charm is called, but basically it's a necklace for you bag. It has a clasp on one end and a ring on the other with dangling charms in the middle. After I get my Coussin I'll take a pic and show you my bag and the trick the SA did. I already have a Metis monogram canvas shoulder strap, 20mm and will bring it on my trip in picking up my bag just to see how it looks and get some feed back. The SA put the bandouliere on the bag. What do you guys think? I had the bandouliere but sold it and I am not interested in rebuying it.

I don't like the monogram strap for the Coussin...just my opinion. I think it works for other bags.

I was offered shipment as well but I prefer to go there, inpect the bag and then pay for it. It's too much trouble to wait for my package or drive over to ups or fed ex to pick it up. Lol. Re the strap, I just do not like the material of the guitar strap. I think it will get dingy as it's a light color. It will look like crap before I know it! Lol. It's a nice strap, just wrong fabric imo. At $3,900 nearly $4k and LV couldn't come up with a better solution for this beautiful bag? I guess if they did, it would cut into their profit and if they raised the price to cover a nicer strap many would pass on it. I have a leather guitar strap from a different brand that is part gold and cream. I'll see how that goes!

UPDATE! Hi everyone. Well I drove 1.5 hrs to pick up my gold Cussion and decided NOT to get it. I know, I know. What a FLAKE! Lol. I was super excited too. The bag is super nice, very nice...but $4k? With tax it was $4,022. I don't care for the fabric strap. I like the strap, just not the fabric. If the bag was $2k, then that is fine. But $4k? I pass. It was a hard decision. I thought about it for about 2 hrs in the boutique. Lol. HOWEVER! I DID SCORE! I got a Toiletry 26! It just came in this am! So, with that said, I ordered an organizer with D rings and a chain. I'll make my own canvas version of the Cussion! Lol. Thank you to all that held a discussion with me about the Cussion. I appreciate you all! I may still get the Cussion but I think Cream will be a better option for me. The gold is pretty but I think the cream will get used more often.
