Hi all! I'm eyeing up the new nautical collection and saw a comment on another thread by someone concerned about the print showing wear over time. I haven't bought LV canvas since the early 2010s and have never owned a piece with a design printed over it. What I should expect in terms of wear and tear? I baby my bags but I'm looking to buy a piece that I can use every day over the summer and not have to worry about.

TBH nobody knows for sure how this new nautical print will perform over time since this is a brand new launch and nobody has had this collection for more than a week (it launched march 3rd). So the best estimation anyone can say is that canvas has been traditionally a very hardy material. Damier azur has the potential for colour transfer just as any light coloured bag will. Whether the print will wear off easily as compared to previous collections is hard to say. Who knows if a new formula, technique, or material etc was used. FYI, the fall floral collection was notoriously fragile with chipping meanwhile the tahitienne seemed to fair quite well over time. I have heard this release is a thicker canvas if that helps. Frankly, I think LV positioned this as a seasonal piece so do with that what you may. It is a beautiful collection. I think you should get it anyways especially if you like it. You mentioned you baby your bags against rubbing so you should be fine.

Thank you both for your insights! i'm thinking about the toiletry pouch. It looked like a great bag to hold my phone and a few bits, bigger than the pochette felicie but at a similar price point. That's such a shame that the floral collection didn't fare very well as they looked stunning. I'll head into a store and take a look at the canvas this season and have a think about it. Do LV have any repair programs for something like this? My problem is that I buy bags as wardrobe investments that I want to be able to enjoy for a long time and pass onto my kids eventually (I still have LV bags from 20 years ago that look fantastic!) so I don't want to get something that will look worn out after a year or two (or at least if it does, it can be repaired and restored).
