Thought this was an interesting article during my morning news catch up. Particularly the part about some employees cutting corners and subsequently getting terminated. Makes me wonder how many might’ve made it to the stores by mistake.

Admittedly, most of my pieces I believe are made in France/Spain but I didn’t really think about quality of where they produced the bag before I read this article.

Do you check where your bag is manufactured before buying? If it’s from the US, are you rejecting?

I read this article as well, an I believe alot of the CB collection is produced in Texas. I know that my onthego PM CB (which was stolen/lost with UPS) went from Texas to the store in Beverly Hills as I was able to track it on my app.

I think CB items may be shipped from Texas but I don’t believe they are produced there. In the CB thread, most items seem to be made in France (Speedy, Papillon, Pochette, Boulogne) and Italy (mini Nice, cosmetic bag PM). Some members had their CB Speedy shipped from Texas but it was made in France. My Speedy was shipped from Ontario, CA but was also made in France.

As with most items it’s better to inspect it individually because no matter the country of origin there will be some great ones and some terrible ones. I’ve seen awful MIF and flawless MIU… :shrugs:

This article seems to have gone viral. I posted this link in a post about a tpf who purchased a defective Capital bag that was the last one in the US. The bag was in horrendous condition that should have never been sold. The gaslighting from the Sa was insulting. Poor QC is on the decline for high end designer merchandise no matter where its being produced. So by reading some comments in this thread LV is producing what looks like collaboration merchandise in the Texas plant and shipping them back to the EU market to add something onto the product to put a label onto the finished product to say made in Paris, France, Italy. This information has been around for years the last point of assembly of a product this is where the tag would say.
