I guess if you live in a area where the towns have lots of $$$ the people get rid of things and just don't care.

yA - also people might not know what they have.
When my mom's best friend past away my mom got all her fancy bags - she was showing me the Gucci, prada, chanel, etc.
then she says - "Oh - and she had this one too - I don't think it's a designer name' - It was a suede fendi - LOL - she was like "What's Fendi?"

I would love to see the pics. Everyone who said it's likely French Co. are right. The reason why the handles aren't super dark is because vachetta wasn't used on French Co. bags. It's actually treated, dyed leather. It will stay that honey color forever.

What a great deal! :amazed: Beats my 'bargain' by far...I got my CB Papillon (pictured) for AUS$450 - my heart was pounding before the authentification verdict from LV! :sweatdrop:

I think that you can definitely find authentic designer stuff at Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. There was an article in Vogue a few years back about how society women in New York City will wear a dress once, then donate it to charity. So apparently there are also a lot of designer clothes at these stores too. Someone found an Hermes bag at a Goodwill and brought it to the Hermes store and they verified that it was AUTHENTIC!! Lucky!! I think the rich women just want to donate it rather than take the time and energy to sell it at a store. Oh I wish I lived in NYC... All of you who live there go check it out!

i just recently got back from my value village and I think i came across an authentic gucci watch and a small coach agenda. I have posted pics in the gucci and coach section and hopefully someone will let me know its real ;)

If it ends up being real the watch was $8.90 and the agenda $.99 ...

It wouldn't surprise me to find the odd authentic item. I'm selling a gucci watch and it's going for around $11. It's authentic, but I will never wear it anymore, so it's a waste for it to sit in my box.

I just answered your gucci question and I'm sorry, but I don't think that it's real.
