I received this gorgeous Lumi but TheRealReal didn't state in the listing that the edge coat was cracking on the entire bag. You could see the handle nick in a photo, but one nick is an easy repair. Both handles and the long strap are like wet noodles because of the cracking. There are cracks from top to bottom on every cm of the edge coat. The leather is in wonderful condition and I'm so disappointed because I love this color. Edge coat repair on an entire bag has got to be pricey. It might be a better idea to find another one without these issues.

I tried to search the forum but didn't come across a lot about edge coat, but did see this may have been an issue with the Lumi.

I would love opinions on what you would do: Return? Repair?

Ask for a RMA immediately attaching the photos, stating that the description is deceving-not as stted and is not acceptable. After a few days they will reply and send you the RMA

Hi OP

unfortunately my Lumi is like that even when it was just sitting in my closet and used rarely like 10 times a year max… LV reglazed it once for free 6 years ago…
I wanted to reglaze it last year, but the store said it will cost me about $300 USD.

If you don’t want to deal with the glazing defect … I’d say return it.
Suffice to say, after I had this glazing issue I have kept away from bags with too much glazing…
for the price these days… my heart can’t bear this kind of issue again … LOL

Thank you, that's very helpful and that's about what I guessed it would cost! I had a Lumi several years ago when they first came out and stupidly sold it - it's my all-time favorite LV! I've been wanting one ever since but I will wait for one in better condition..or even pay a bit more if I have to. It's one thing if I cause the damage but I don't want to pay for someone else's damage.

I was able to chat with them and they will give me store credit, waive all fees, and free return shipping. I could have pressed the matter for a flat out return but I'm in bag buying mode. Oddly it seems to happen about this time every year, lol.

Maybe u can find one in better condition?

I spend about an hour last night looking at all the Lumis on TRR and FP. Now that I know what I'm looking for, I can see tiny cracks on every single one. Even those that are listed as "excellent condition". That's unfortunate since that's a perfect style for me. I'm looking at the Bastille and Spontini, since I love the empreinte leather.
