Low Humidity & Exotic Hermes Bags

I recently moved to Colorado and with an elevation at ~8000 ft (~2440 meters), it's really dry and I'm worried about the lack of humidity as it's around 30%. So rather than worrying I may get mold which is the problem in high humidity locations, I worry my bags over time, leather and exotics, may dry out and crack. Anyone here have recommendations? I'm currently using the Boveda packs at 58% but they last about a month so looking for a longer term solution.

I use humidifiers when I’m in the mountains. I’d definitely run them constantly.
I’m in NM now, next to one lol
Do you use a humidifier in the area of where you store your bags or general ones around the house? We have a full house humidifier system and supplement with additional free standing ones in the bedroom. I store my bags in their dust covers and original boxes in a large cabinet and wasn't sure if putting a small humidifier in there would be good or bad for them...

use conditioner more regularly than you might in temperate zones
and probably still avoid boxes as you would generally

take into Hermes regularly for inspection with a view to spa

Thanks for the recommendations!

There isn’t a spa near me but I can definitely take them into the store for inspection.

Is there a particular conditioner you’d recommend? I can also check in with my SA.

So I shouldn’t store the bags in the H boxes?

Saphir has Reptan

I use that on croc/gator
obviously not ostrich

p.s. there is a consensus to avoid boxes as you because air circulation iis preferred
but I don't know if that goes against a particularly dry atmosphere

I don’t store mine in bags/boxes however.

💯 no dust bags or garment bags. I avoid synthetic storage and plastic. I do not keep boxes.

No DIY especially on exotics. I send to H spa and @docride for any conditioning,
restoration, protection, repair. Upkeep is expensive and worth it.

Bags and RTW are stored with decent air circulation; moderate temperature; and minimal direct light.
(Humidity is not an issue in my location)

Welcome to Colorado! I live at 8,800 feet and I don't have a humidifier. I store my bags without bags or boxes and had not had any issues at all. I have crocodile, ostrich, lizard and python all of which are fine including my leather bags. It also depends on the year. This year we had had tons of rain, so humidity levels have been higher. Definitely worth keeping an eye on them.

Great to know! Was definitely worried about the lack of humidity and now they are out of the boxes they should be fine and getting air flow.
