I believe the river just needs to be prepared but does anyone know for sure? Has anyone else had this problem? And how much did it cost to be repaired?

It’s a speedy 25!
You might need to take the handle wrap off before you go in, assuming that is the ONLY alteration and there is not much evidence left of this when it’s gone, but if the canvas is in original condition without any major cracks or damage or alterations they should repair that.

If there is lacing on the outline they will NOT repair. You forfeit that when you alter the bag. Your best bet is to take it to a cobbler or leather repair person.
There is lacing on the outline of the purse as well. If they reject any suggestion on repairing it?

You can buy regular rivets and do a repair yourself. I believe Etsy sellers may have the parts. And shoe repair place should be able to do this too. Just type in purse rivets.
