Hello guys,

I was recently in store looking into a new small bag, was originally looking at the Alma bb but was distracted by the Ellipse pm. What are your experiences with this bag? I have not seen any of the new reissued models in the wild, why is it not more popular, is it to dated?
Does anyone know the differences between the vintage models and the newly reissued one ??

I don’t think the new version looks dated, especially with the addition of the strap and being a smaller size. I think it’s because of the steep price for a canvas bag, that you don’t see many around.

My aunt has a vintage Ellipse. The original design is better, I think.

I think the zip pocket is distracting, when compared to the original. I also think the Ellipse is better as a top handle, than long shoulder/crossbody.

The revamped design is definitely more convenient and more for the contemporary individual, but I do think it came at the expense of the original’s “elegance.”

You’re also paying for additional bells and whistles that no one really asked for. Vintage ellipses are still sought after. If you ask me, the new ellipse doesn’t appeal to house-history LV fans (which reissues usually target), young or old.

I’m 27 btw, if that adds any additional context to my thoughts.

I absolutely adore the vintage Ellipse backpack. I have often looked for a great preloved version but sadly most seem tatty. I wish they’d made a new version in the Ellipse range.
