What are your guys thoughts on platform heels like the louboutins? I have been thinking on trying some out but am too afraid to risk it if I am unable to walk in them. Any experiences or advice?

  2. Personally I am not a fan. I think they look tacky not very sophisticated. Just my opinion. I have the Bianca louboutins and rarely wear them, only to go out to clubs Saturday night which is rare these days! There are much nicer styles than this. Bianca are easy to walk in though

  3. Platforms are out now... with all the non-platforms everywhere, they are abit dated.
Platforms like the above will definitely be harder to walk in as the base is hard and off the ground you wont be able to feel your footing as much as say a platform with a rubber sole.

But if you are keen on them, keep practicing and it will get easier.

  4. I agree they are dated. I think you meant be surprised at the ease of walking in them though. For me platforms much easier than 120's no platform. They are impossible for me!
  5. A 160mm like the picture you posted will definately be more challanging to walk in vs a 150 or 140mm. I am short and have lots of platforms and still wear them. Style them appropriately and wear what makes you happy! And of course practice makes perfect.
  6. Yes, there is some degree of porn star chic in them
  7. Hijacking this thread...How about a short platform? Like the new simple, with the 2cm platform? Do they look dated?
  8. Not a fan of the large platform such as Daffs. However, to me, smaller platforms New Simples and Declic, are still classy and comfortable.
  9. I have a pair of Biancas (140) and love them. They're comfortable as far as heels go, fairly easy to walk in, and I think the added height makes them one of my sexier pairs by far. I've considered a pair of Lady Peeps (150) and will probably end up purchasing once I find the perfect pair, but that's as high as I think is appropriate while staying classy, and for some reason only in that specific style (maybe it's the peep toe, or curved platform). I don't feel like they're every day shoes though, so if you want to get a lot of wear out of them, you might look at a 120 if you like a shoe with height to it. There's no harm in trying on a pair though! Keeping in mind of course that it will be easier to walk in them on the carpet than it will be outdoors, from my experience. ️
  10. I personally do think that the platform has run its course. The Bianca 120mm is a great starter pair of platforms. They are easy to walking in and not too hoochie. If you live near a department store that sell CL or a CL boutique go in and try on serveral styles (much fun).
  11. Platformed pumps are tacky. (Actually any platformed shoe is tacky.) There's a reason Parisian women don't wear them.
  12. Wow I guess that all my Biancas are dated then...lol. Anyway I love them so won't get rid just yet.

  13. I personally find this concept of Parisian women being the arbiter of all things (*effortlessly*) cool and chic hilarious! I guess this is why books like Madame Chic series and French-women-do-this-or-that are so popular ;)

  14. You definitely made a point that you are not too keen on the idea of a platform - posting the same statement about "Parisian women" in various threads

  15. Sorry. I didn't mean to sound so harsh. It's just my opinion. I'm probably the one that's dated. This forum makes you post 5 times before you can start a thread otherwise I wouldn't be posting at all. I usually live by the motto: "If you can't say something nice..."
