I'm so sad right now.. I just looked down at my E Ring and I noticed I lost a sizeable stone on my floral halo. I can't find it. Searched everywhere!
I know it can easily be replaced and my jeweler (where it was purchased) will replace at no cost but I'm still sad. I can't take it in until Thursday and can't wear it missing the stone.
*sigh*
Thanks for letting me vent

Didn't you already have lost stones with this setting? You haven't had this very long, so either you're quite hard on this thing or there's something not well made about it. Yes, melee get loose sometimes, but this particular unit seems to be giving you more loss than average.

Yup.. I'm feeling the same way, Ame. I ripped a prong off after having it for less than a month..
I had a plain solitaire w channel setting for over 10 years and never ever had 1 problem. I do think I am hard on my rings but this is getting ridiculous.. Not going to be good If I ask my husband for another new setting.

Ame, I'm not sure if it's the same prong but it's a stone that sits right next to it/ under a prong.
I'm going today. I haven't even told my husband.. He would be livid! This was not a cheap setting. I'm beginning to worry if it's just to delicate for my active lifestyle. I did everything while wearing my old setting w out ever thinking about it. I find myself taking this ring off much more often bc I'm afraid I might damage it by banging the halo. It's also 18k WG where as my other was platinum.

Unfortunately, haloes are not really sturdy enough for wearing for everything, so it could be a regular issue if you wear it while really using your hands.

Successful repair.. My jeweler replaced the stone and checked/ tightened all of my prongs. My halo is shared prong (floral design) so there isn't much metal to protect the diamonds.. I love the look w minimal metal but I guess it's at a cost: it's much more delicate then I realize.

Glad to hear that the ring is repaired! With this type of delicate setting, however, this could become a recurring issue if you wear it a lot while working with your hands and/or are generally hard on your rings.

I wish I had taken my active lifestyle into account when I picked it! I never ever thought about it. I went purely with blingy and pretty.. Lol
I looked at settings today and nothing sang to me or even caught my eye. I never really liked my plain solitaire setting but I never had to think about it. I really love this setting though.
*sigh* I'm hoping this is it! I asked my jeweler if I should have had it made in platinum and was told it really wouldn't have a made a difference bc of the type of setting. Who knows.
They didn't charge me for the diamond or the repair. I have the best SA!
Going forward I must be more mindful of what I'm doing when I wear it. They also advised me not to wear it to bed which I never ever do anyway.
Thank you ladies for all of your kind words and advise!

And ladies, take your lifestyle into account before picking a setting!!
