Loose gemstones (Sapphires? Emeralds)

I'm looking for a reputable dealer that sells loose gemstones. Specifically, I'm looking for a 2-3 ct blue sapphire, a 2 ct emerald and a 1 ct emerald. I want good quality on each of them.

Any suggestions on sellers who are honest, have a good selection and are reasonable?

Have you tried any local jewelers? Jewelers that do a lot of custom-design work often have good sources for gemstones. Whatever you do don't buy from Jewelry TV (jtv.com). A friend bought loose stones from them and ended up with a nasty tangle of credit card disputes.
