Hi all,

I'm in the market for my next everyday bag, but I'm having some trouble. It seems to me that the various bags I'm looking at are near-perfect, but nothing has ALL of the qualities I'm looking for.

I want a medium-large bag, with a n-s profile, with one strap only (and that strap needs to be adjustable - between short shoulder-length to high crossbody length). I guess this bag I'm looking for lies somewhere between a tote and a hobo - with a somewhat structured base, preferably with feet, but a relatively slouchy body above the base. Ideally it'd have a zip top, but I'm open to something open (heh) if it has an attached smaller inner wristlet-type pouch, or zipped inner pockets. Hoping for something with some interior organization, something relatively affordable but still luxurious feeling so it feels like a little treat. Ideally I want something that comes in fun colors...my bag collection is lacking in blues especially!

Attached are some examples of bags with some but not all of these qualities...

Burb suede shoulder bag: gorgeous, but so slim (no width) and no structured bottom, also open top...might not hold nearly as much as I'd like.

Mulb Jamie: a bit pricey for my taste, but I'm waiting to see what the upcoming sale holds. Fits most of my qualifications though, hopefully it would be large enough for what I want. Wish the color blue was a bit prettier.

D&B shopper: open top, but otherwise fits most of my technical qualifications. I guess I could make an exception for short handles in addition to the longer strap if they don't get too much in the way. Not sure if the strap adjusts to long-enough for short crossbody though. Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of the Dooney aesthetic; I currently own no Dooney bags. Does come in this pretty celadon color though.

SO - my question for you all is - does the bag I want actually exist? Or have I built an impossible chimera in my head? Do you have any suggestions of what brands to look at that I haven't already considered, for a bag like I describe?

Many thanks for any suggestions - I'm hoping that my dream bag DOES exist somewhere!!

The second bag looks a lot like a Coach Legacy Duffle. Here's mine. I love how roomy it is, and it goes from hobo to crossbody perfectly. No feet unfortunately, but has a zip top and an external zip pocket. The internal zip pocket is huge.

It came in a ton of colors in the plain version. Mine was the studded version, which only came in three or four colors.

Thank you! I have thought about this bag before, but sadly I did not pick it up when still available. Not sure I'm ready to go the ebay route to find a pre-loved one, but I'll definitely keep it in mind if no other options pan out. Sadly the current mini dufflette is too small for my purposes.

In any event, your duffle is gorgeous!!! I love love love the color and the studs. I hope you are loving it!!

I love it, it's perfect for a mom on the go. There are NWT ones on eBay, but yes, I'm sure there are plenty more options in stores right now. I wish you luck, here's hoping you find the perfect blue bag in time for Black Friday discounts!

Thank you so much!!

I'll second the Legacy Duffle. It's the most recent Coach bag I've bought and it's wonderful and meets all of your must haves.

Thanks!! Consensus is good...glad to hear another vote for the same bag! I'll keep thinking about it and researching for a little while, but maybe I will have to go the ebay route.

May I recommend the Monterey Crossbody by Rissetto (formerly 49 Sq Mi), currently on sale for $195 (but only in a lovely saddle or a black) and also the Muse Top-Zip by the same company.

Right now the Muse is only available in Wood, a very pretty brown. Posted a pic of the Monterey, my favorite - I'm sorry it doesn't come in a pretty blue but maybe one day ...

How about the Mulberry Freya in slate blue? The straps are detachable so you don't have to use both at the same time, and my SA said that it will be going into the sale...

I love Tano bags, wonderful colors and I love the leather. Just goggle Tano Bags to get to their site, my phone won't let me post the link. You can also find some great deals on eBay or Poshmark to find some of their other styles, there are a lot!
Here's the idea, but they do come in other colors.

Ooh, interesting. Never heard of Rissetto before, but I'll check them out!

Oooh, good call. If I can't find a Coach legacy duffle I like, maybe this will be the one.

Thanks for the sale intel! I wonder if that means Jamie will be in the sale too? The large Freya is a nice looking bag, and I think is the size I would want, but unlike the smaller size it's lacking the crossbody strap, so I don't think it's the bag for me. Thanks though! It is lovely!

Here is an example of one of their blues-

Interesting, never heard of Tano either...I'll take a look!
