Hi everyone!

I just started a new job and I want to buy a functional work backpack - one that has many pockets, especially a water bottle pocket. I’m not looking for a luxury backpack from LV or anything like that, but rather something more low-key, affordable and high-quality.

My parents are going to Spain soon and want to buy me a nice bag! I’m not sure if there are any European Brands worth checking out either but would be interested in researching a few. Don’t know if it makes a difference to buy internationally vs in the store.

I appreciate any recommendations! I hope to use this bag for at least 5 years!

I totally love my Pacsafe Metrosafe. I have one in grey color - it's my most comfortable backpack to carry even when it weighs alot, it has a lot of pockets and also safety features. It's great for when you want to carry a laptop as the backpacks have a laptop compartment. Tumi is a good brand for backpacks as well.
If you want leather, Lumi Accessories and Pihka both have some nice backpacks. Coach is also great for backpacks.

I don’t know where you are located but I bought a backpack from ROKA recently for work and travel and I LOVE it. I was recently on sabbatical in the UK and travelled everywhere with mine. It has a laptop sleeve, water bottle pockets, and zippered pockets inside and out. Their colors are really fabulous and it’s such a functional bag; they are also made out of recycled plastic bottles. In the UK they are very popular. In the US they sell their packs under the brand name “Ori” (the name of the founder’s daughter).

I'm fond of waterproof or water resistant backpacks, so that if the sky opens up and the ocean descends upon me, I know my laptop is safe. I don't really use a backpack for work though.
