I've got a work travel trip coming up and I went through my handbags and decided (obviously) that none are suitable. As it's a business trip I would like to be able to carry my laptop and bulky over the ear headphones in their (even more bulky) carry case. I'm thinking a tote bag of some kind. I've just thrown out my old Longchamp le Pliage totes as the corners had gone, and I did toy with the idea of buying another one, but I'm kind of bored with them and the dreadful corner wear. I don't want to spend too much and am thinking possibly something from Coach or Kate Spade that kind of bracket. Any ideas?

Longchamp will fix the corners of their nylon totes once for free. It will take weeks if not months though.
My brand recommendations would be Boss, Coach, Tory Burch and Kurt Geiger - even Balmuir and Marc Jacobs would be good for travel. All have some amazing totes at very decent prices.

Alas it may be not in the budget but have to mention - I have a LV Backpack for about 15 years - it's travelled up the Bosphore in Istanbul with it -- its kind of cool since the backpack was named after this river that splits Europe from Asia. It has a document pocket which makes it especially great for travel -- I believe they have one in the graphite damier now ... and others. On the handbag side, I like to travel with one I can swing over my shoulder if I'm going to be napping on the trip. Have fun!

Cheers, Tina

I keep a Francine bag for work trips. It's not the most refined, but it's spacious, padded for my laptop, and makes for easy traveling while looking pulled together without drawing too much attention.

Another good option is Want Les Essentiels. I have a slim case from them that I use for my personal laptop.

Some lovely suggestions here - and after spending most of today looking online in the end I went for a Marc Jacobs medium canvas tote in the khaki colour - should be able to fit all my essentials and will be useful to go into work (I work from home mostly, but go into the office for a few days once a month). I'm flying out to India at the end of August for a business trip (I work in tech with an offshore team) and it's a totally new way of working for me (remote/international) so had a major gap in my handbag collection. It should arrive tomorrow so I'll have a play and see how to pack, exciting!
