Hi, I would like to add medium size bag to my collection, currently I don’t have anything in medium size (it’s either small bag that fits bare essentials or a large tote). Need some help to make a decision, here are my thought:

Loewe puzzle small: pros - I think it’s the most secure bag out of all because of the zip closure and I like that there is no visible logo. Cons - I prefer gold hardware and black colour only comes with silver hardware, so I will have to compromise either with colour of the bag or hardware; I haven’t had the chance to try the bag on but I think it might be bulky on my frame (I’m 156 cm, size 34)

Hermes herbag 31: pros - it would be cool to add Hermès bag into my collection and I like the silhouette. Cons - not easy to get, might to have to pay premium to the resellet.

LV pochette metis in leather: pros - easy to get, available in different colours with gold hardware. Cons - logo is quite visible.

Fendi baguette: pros - lots of colour options available. Cons - doesn’t hold it shape well.

As you all can see I don’t love either options, so I’m open to any suggestion. Thanks

Pochette metis is very functional and a great staple medium-sized all rounder. Personally I love my top handle pochette Metis …see my dip! I wear it without the LV tag! I am partial towards LV canvas as it works with my entire wardrobe all season and it’s very hard wearing and light. I am not a huge fan of LV empriente leather.

Love how Loewe puzzle looks empty…not so sure when filled up as it starts to look boxy!

Both Saint Laurent and Mulberry do pretty and practical medium sized bags with good leather quality. It’s a shame Givenchy antigona is out of trend. It a Tardis! It‘s fairly decent bag. I still use my mini version which equates to small/medium size nowadays.

Hermes is a safe bet of all From your choices!

Thanks I appreciate your input?

I'm a fan of the small Puzzle. IMO it's a chic bag that holds a fair amount and has become a classic, also reasonably fairly priced for its quality. I'm about the same size as you and I think it works on me.
I wouldn't buy an Herbag just to have an Hermès bag, but if you love the design, it's also very functional. I definitely wouldn't pay over retail - they are findable. It's similar to a Kelly which is my go-to medium sized bag.
I don't like logos, so the Metis is not for me.
The baguette has never moved me and it does get shapeless IMO.

You say you don't love any of these....maybe branch out? Bottega? The Row? Does it need to be a premium designer? There are so many gorgeous bags out there, must be one you will love. Maybe look at your favorite bags and imagine what would be a size up or a size down depending.

I considered bottega Jodie but small is a bit too large, and teen does not sit comfortably on the shoulder so it’s a no. I prefer it to be premium designer, but it doesn’t have to be, I just can’t think of anything else that I like. I like her bag for it’s design and I kinda think it’s the safest choice but at the same time I hope to get a Kelly in the future and then I wouldn’t want to have 2 bags in similar shape from the similar brand. Do you wear your puzzle as shoulder bag or as crossbody mostly?

if This is the case, then do wait for a kelly. Though once you start down that path, one may not be enough. A Herbag in a fun color combo or pattern might be sufficient to distinguish it if you truly love the style.

I also like the bags at Loro Piana Bc they seem lightweight and a decent size.

ETA: the small puzzle, though somewhat soft, is about four inches deep. When I’ve worn one (borrowed from my mom) it tends to stick out a bit. I agree with @Raaz , that it feels boxy. I’m one of those who has a hard time compromising on hardware choice, but for the right bag I will do it.
