Hi, looking to buy a Loewe Puzzle when I go to Spain for a vacation next month. Is it really much cheaper in Spain? Has anyone recently purchased and care to share how much they got their Puzzle for?

Been wanting to buy this bag since last year, but I find it pricey especially in the stores in Asia. Though, in the secondhand market I can find some in great condition for around 900-1200 USD.

Would it be better to buy bnew in Spain? I’m pretty sure it’s more than 1,200 USD in Spain, but if the price difference isn’t that significant, then maybe I should buy my Puzzle there. This will also be my first designer handbag that isn’t secondhand, if that’s the case.

TLDR: it’s either buy secondhand or in Spain for me. Which is better? Any thoughts?

I would recommend taking a look on the european Loewe website. You can compare the price of the bag you are looking for.

I think buying a new one in Spain with the VAT discount factored in would be a wonderful experience worth an extra few hundred you might save buying a bag preloved. I've done this a few times and bags make the best memory keepers of amazing trips. Plus, you know it's all yours
Right I really should consider it this way… Would you know if the price listed in the stores would be Vat inclusive (hence there’s a possible of more savings since I’ll still have to get the vat refund)? Thank you!

Prices in the EU always include the VAT. To see what prices are, go onto Loewe's website for Spain.

I would not decide whether or not to make a purchase based on any added savings from a VAT refund given it takes about a month to get it back onto your card. You will be out that money and won't get it back right away unless you choose a cash refund at the airport which includes a processing fee and then another processing fee when you convert those euros to your home currency.

Hi! I was in Spain in March and bought a puzzle bag in Valencia.
The retail price in store is much cheaper compared to retail in Canada/USA. I also got about ~11% back on my card from the European price - just make sure to follow the steps to make sure your VAT refund is properly processed.

Hope that helps.

This is so very helpful! I'm excited to see the choices :3

I would say buy new in Spain. There are a lot of replicas now and if you buy second hand then I would avoid buying tan as I would imagine that is the most common color that’s replicated. I just bought a dark blush small puzzle from a Europe based consignment site. I haven’t received it yet and I’m in the U.S. but the price was very fair and it’s a color I missed out on when it was released. Unless you’re looking for a seasonal color that is sold out, it’s better to buy new.

woops! Didn’t realize it was an old thread.

Hello everyone, I’m also planning a trip to Europe soon and just wondering if anyone has any shopping tips for extra savings on top of the lower retail prices and vat refund. Such as maybe any department stores that offer promo codes like NM and BG for example, any cash back apps to look into, etc. Any bit would help!
