Hi I m just wondering if I purchase in new York as a tourist can I claim bac the sales tax? I m dying to purchase a constance especially good exchange rate now thx

If you live in the US and your state does not have an H boutique, ship the bag home and you won't have to pay tax. You'll just pay for fedex.

If you are from outside the States, I don't think you can get the sales tax back. I would defer to others to weigh in. The dollar remains low, so at least you'll get a bargain on that end...

Lastly, I suppose if you know someone in the states - that lives in a state that doesn't have an H boutique - ship the bag to them and then you won't have to pay tax, you'll also take advantage of the exchange rate, and you can visit your friend...

Not sure if you can ship the bag outside of the US, but someone here will know that too.

Hope this helps -- Enjoy your new bag!!

In the US they are equal opportunity taxers. What you can do, is ship the item home. Just shipping a bag a state away is very expensive, saves sales tax, because our state doesn't have an H store, but the further away, the higher the shipping and insurance. Then, you will have to pay the customs before fedex will deliver. It will probably be a wash.

I assume you are outside the US. The answer to your question very simply, is NO. The US does not have a tax rebate system like the EU.

And I would not recommend shipping the bag to your country either, it will be more expensive than taking the bag with you. Sometimes peope ship the empty box, which might be cheaper, but it will still be expensive to ship the box because it is big.
