Hello,

I'm currently looking for a lightweight handbag that will be big enough to fit a Mac Air/iPad, agenda, moleskin, cellphone, and a few miscellaneous goods. Hoping to be able to use this as my everyday (work/play) bag and be able to use it while traveling. AKA light, portable, and big enough to cram extra stuff in to it at the airport lol

As much as I love my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli and Longchamp Le Pliage (Eiffel Tower ed), they're either too heavy for day to day use (Pashli) or I'm just tired of it. Right now I'm eyeing the Burberry small Canter in embossed check leather (link) and Phillip Lim's 31 Hour bag (even though it's a bit old...nouveau classic? haha).

Do you know any lightweight handbags?

TIA x.

Maybe vera bradley? Although that look is very casual so I don't think it work appropriate or for an office setting.

The patterns are pretty but you're right, it's probably too casual for the office.

Proenza Schouler PS1 and Mulberry Alexa come to mind. Both come in smaller and larger sizes.

I've considered the Proenza Schouler PS1 travel bag but sadly it has been discontinued for a while :nogood:

Given some of the brands mentioned, you might be looking for something a little more designer, but I'm planning to buy the Lo and Sons 0MG bag and to use it in the same way as you describe. l haven't seen it in real life but it looks nice in pics and seems to get good reviews. I like that it looks relatively stylish but will still slip over the handle of my suitcase. And it seems like a good size which means it could be a good general work bag, carry my laptop when I travel for work and be a decent carry on bag when I take longer flights for holidays/vacations. www.loandsons.com/the-omg
Sorry - I'm not sure if that link will work. This is my first post!

WOW! This would be a great travel work bag. It's nice to finally see the 'slip over suitcase handle' feature again. Thanks for sharing!

I'm looking for a slightly more 'loud' design but the Lo and Sons has this Parisian Chic vibe that's really calling to me. I just might join you and get one too ;)

I have the same problem. Everything is too heavy and uncomfortable for me.

1. The Dior Open Bar is pretty lightweight for it's size.

2. Prada Saffiano Luxe seems to be everyone's favorite work bag.

3. Prada Vitello Daino tote. I saw this in person, and I'm thinking about getting it, though I haven't seen much about it, and it is only on Prada's website.

4. Fendi 2Jours or petite 2Jours, depending on the size you need. I am thinking about the petit. It is one of the lightest bags I have tried.

5. Fendi DemiJour. Hard to find and does not currently come in black, but this is my favorite Fendi bag.

6. Fendi 3Jours is pretty lightweight and practical compared to similar bags of it's size, but I personally hate the shape.

7. If you have the money, I'd say Fendi Peekaboo Seleria - lightweight, closes (secure), stands on feet, adjustable strap can be worn cross body or shoulder, durable pebbled leather.

8. Givenchy Obsedia. I've only tried the small, but my memory is it was very light.

9. Anya Hindmarch Ebury. Anya bags seem to be especially lightweight. The Ebury even comes in a special lightweight version. They also come with thick straps, which makes them effectively lighter in terms of the stress on your shoulder.

10. The Alexander McQueen padlock tote is very light. However, the leather is very thin and appears to be of subpar quality. That's probably why it is so light.

11. Rebecca Minkoff Regan. Super light.

I'd say Longchamp Le PliageCuir in Medium. It's very lightweight, fits a ton and comes in several colors. Definitely a step away from the LP nylon bags!
The LC Penelope tote is also very pretty, not sure on the weight but from my experience, Longchamp bags tend to be light. For a seriously light leather bag that will impress anyone at the boardroom - Longchamp Roseau. They come in several desingns; some have short handles, others have long ones, Box and Heritage have both.
