Liam Payne, a former member of boyband One Direction, has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police there. He was 31.

Payne’s death occurred at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood, according to a statement from police provided to CNN.

The musician was best known as a member of the famed British boyband One Direction. The band, which also included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, first formed in 2010 after each member appeared on the UK version of reality competition show “The X Factor.”

CHILLING 911 CONVERSATION OCCURRED ...Just Before Singer Fell To His Death

Shortly before Liam Payne fell to his death from a balcony, a hotel manager reportedly called 911 to report the former One Direction star was wasted and destroying his room.

According to a 911 transcript, obtained by several media outlets, Payne was in the throes of a complete meltdown in his third-floor room at the CasaSur Hotel in Palermo, Buenos Aires.

CNN and La Nacion say the manager phoned a 911 operator around 5 p.m. Wednesday to get help. Here's a summary of their purported conversation ...

The manager said there was a guest "who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol," and he was breaking up his hotel room, so they needed assistance.

The operator questioned the claim about alcohol and drugs, but the manager confirmed it before urgently requesting help again.

The manager also expressed concern the guest's life was at risk, noting the individual had been staying in the room for 2 or 3 days and hotel staff was unable to gain access.

After some more back and forth, the operator said the police were on their way to the hotel.

Unfortunately, by the time the cops arrived, Liam had already fallen from the balcony of his third-floor room and was lying dead on the ground below.

Police have launched an investigation to determine whether Liam's death was intentional, accidental or a suicide.

I did a deep dive.

His girlfriend was with him but left two-ish days before the incident, even though he was posting photos with her right before.

His ex announced she was taking legal action a week before and he had threatened suicide before, as well as threatened his life as a manipulation tactic when she attempted to leave him. Social media is blaming this poor girl for this. Horrible.

Very sad all around and I hope all parties can heal.

There’s other stories too about a song he was writing or recording about human trafficking… Avicii had similar story ?
Someone told me at dinner last night, I haven’t looked up these stories.

He was on a British program talking about Diddy and Shawn Carter. Not that it means anything. But you don’t buy meth from the dispensary.
It is too bad, gone too soon.

So he got dumped and he couldn’t handle it? There isn’t an ex alive who is worth that level of mental anguish. If someone doesn’t want you anymore then it wasn’t meant to be. Drowning the pain with drugs and booze and raging about the breakup is never the answer. I feel bad for him but she is not to blame for his choices.

**IF** this was suicide, then of course no one is to blame. IF it was suicide it happened because he has a mental problem, that onus doesn't lie on anyone. But there's no reasoning with someone who wants to end their life. Unfortunately I know this firsthand, a close family member has tried 3x now. No therapy, meds, friends, etc... really can make that persistent feeling disappear for this person I know. They try and manage, but everyone around them understands that it's about them, not us.

I think it is a bit deeper than that. The ex alluded that she was abused by him verbally, emotionally, and physically and publicly spoke out.

I agree 1000%
