There is so much talk of "investment pieces" and "classic styles" on TPF, I'm SICK OF IT. Bags are accessories and who doesn't want a goofy accessory now and then?

DEATH TO CLASSICS!

What do you have (and maybe don't use as much as you should) that is strange, funny, eye-catching, work-inappropriate, possibly-a-fashion-faux-pas, best for days you want to punch things up with a bit of fun? All price points and designers welcome.

(DISCLAIMER: this is meant in the spirit of good fun, not to dig on classic style, which is lovely and essential and probably 90% of any smart woman's collection. But for once let's go gaga over the other 10%, please!)

Probably more young for me than anything else and I know some of the thoughts on logos, but I can't help it; I'm addicted to neon. It goes well with the bag that started me down the rabbit hole, my LV x Robert Wilson collab Reade PM and bracelet in Rose Fluo (will take pics at home).

I don't know if this counts, but I have a Michael Kors neon yellow color block Selma. I love this bag to bits and I always get comments on how bright and loud she is. Once my friend texted me saying she could see me from across the street because my bag was so bright. Regardless though, she has my heart and I carry her often :)

Here she is in day light:

And in a poorly lit elevator haha:

Well, these may be weird, but I absolutely love them.

Long story short, I honestly thought I was going to get a Fendi bug. Even stood in a Nordstrom's, holding one in (by dumb luck) my favorite color. Hubby even wanted me to do it, but ... no .... I just cannot bring myself to put money in KL's coffers. Period. :shrugs: So I found a couple goblins instead. ;)

The grey/lavender one -- named "Old Man" -- is genuine fox fur, silver fox, mink, and lambskin leather. The rust/green one -- named "Esmerelda" -- is fox and lambskin leather. I should be getting two more tomorrow ... one is a black and green goblin I'm naming "Coal Breaker"; the other is a brown and white fishy I'm going to call "Phineas." :p About $170 a pop.

Yes, I'm probably too old for this.

I.
Don't.
Care. :p

Yes!! Neon is so one of those styles you either love or hate. I'm not gutsy enough for LV neon but I have been eyeing a couple atrociously bright Cambridge Satchel Co numbers... thank you for being the first to post pictures. It takes guts. :-)

She's disgustingly bright and absolutely beautiful. You will never be run over carrying that color, it's AMAZING.

LOL I've been waiting for a bag bug... but this is even better!!!! As on-trend as the super weird bag bugs, and only a quarter the price... who are they by?

My sister has the same. I think it's totally cool

This looks stunning with all-black. And the other positive thing is it's probably health and safety approved too :D

Heh. Thanks ladies. ;)

They're from a designer who works in the fashion industry in NYC. She has a lot of "old-time" furrier skills, and it shows in her work. Even the faces are well detailed, made of lambskin leather, with Swarovski crystals in the eyes and precise stitching on the features. Anyone who wants her web address, I'll happy give by private message. :)

I actually carried "Esmerelda" on a studded, dark-oxblood colored clutch today. Monsters seem to work best if the bag is either very large or very small. .... I got quite a few exclamations of, "Oh, that is so cute!" And when actually asked what it was, my simple reply was, "Bag monsters. Invented by an Italian company whose designer I can't stand. So I got this from a NYC artist instead." :)
