It's been done many times. Most vintage collectors prefer bags in the original condition, even if they are stained. There is nothing wonderful about that paint job. Often when people do this, it changes the sheen and texture of the leather.I ran across this on my wanderings and wonder if someone made lemonade out of lemons - there must have been more than one
There have been some more artistic attempts. There was a seller awhile back who painted dog portraits on old Coach bags.
What bothered me about the listing is the fact that the seller seems to imply that this was how the bag was originally sold - reflected by the price of the bag itself and the shipping charges. I believe people should paint their bags if that makes them happy, but they should then not sell them as authentic.
