Why the best iconic, very old model bag is so "cheap"? Have you ever thought about it? Its a 'monument" bag so it should be more expensive

But for luck its not a true!! So we can buy our the most wonder bags!

the reason it became the most popular LV is because of its price. i think that if they priced the speedy really high, other bags wouldve gotten the fame of the speedy. just my two cents

Agreed. First of all, it's beautiful and classic. Then, the lower price makes it more affordable to a wider audience, thus increasing it's popularity.

True, $700 is not cheap for a very simple handbag.

Just as my DH have said it's not just a hand bag -- it's LOUIS VUITTON ! you're buying the name and the prestige that comes with it... it doesn't matter if it's the cheapest or the most expensive LV.

It's such a cute shape-- classic and stylish. I loved it before I realized it was one of the "cheaper" bags.

Me too. I loved the Speedy even before I began carrying LV, before I even knew the price of it or any of the other LV bags. Also, I think some of it's popularity, at least years ago, was due to it being a bag that Audrey Hepburn carried with such class.

Speedy and NF are cheaper b/c they are regular line, they have less vachetta than many of the more expensive bags, and they are less structured and more simple in design so thus cheaper to make. LV has to have different bags with different price points to appeal to various customers, most brands do that.

the reason LV is able to keep it at such a low price point is:

1. extremely simple design- 1 piece of continuous fabric, a zipper and 2 handles
2. its canvas and like 10 square inches of leather- lets be real, the materials probably cost $30, if that
