The Women's version, all the way. The Men's version is boxier, the VVN (that was pre-tanned in the factory, I'm not fond of those) can be scratched up just as much as the hardware, I wouldn't recommend to focus on that aspect. As already can be seen on the photos, the construction of the Men's one makes the side VVN edges inevitably bent, and since the design is so similar to a normal trunk, it makes it look like hard-sided trunk "from Wish"

Not literally, but since it is more similar to a classic trunk, that makes its feel like a lesser version of that, not a playful new interpretation. Which is the case with the Women's version. It is a smart and graceful take on the classic, using its codes way more elegantly, while playing with its own softness. The other one is just a lumber-free trunk, this one is a beautifully feminine soft bag with trunk accents. Also it does retain more of the visual codes of the trunks, and that literally makes it "more Vuitton" than the other one. It is a superior design.
The only thing I find really cool about the Men's version is that they came up with those flower rivets. But since they forgot to make sure that they stand straight, they are all over the place, if you once looks at them, cannot be unseen.
Also — this is just a personal pet peeve of mine — I hate those weird zipper pulls that they use for the Men's seasonal pieces. I really hope that Pharrel will change them, because everytime I see one, that renders anything unsellable for me.
Sorry for the long post, and I know that there is a huge factor of personal taste and preferences when people look at these two models, but I just wanted to emphasize that there are quite a few objective reasons why I believe most Vuitton enthusiast would consider the Women's version to be an overall better design. I recommend that.
