Hi!
I recently purchased a sapphire reptile Linea Pelle Dylan shoulder bag (off of eBay, ha!) and used it for the first time today. Love the bag; it's huge and comfortable to carry.. One problem though, it turned by beige shirt BLUE!
Is there any way to seal in the colouring of the leather without making it "crunchy"? I would love to use the bag more ofter, but it's almost summer and I would prefer not having to wear black every time I carry it...

Please help? :shrugs:

Oh yes, and I would have searched for any past threads, but it appears the search function is still down.

Thanks in advance!

No i do not think you can use anything to stop the color coming off to your clothes.
it has to do with the dye they used.Probably not as good quality ,or did not test it much. The only thing you can do is wear it with dark clothes!

Don't want to return it, eh ?
First, call Linea Pelle and see if they can advise.
I have had some trouble with Blue leather color transfers so here's what I know.~ Some Blues can be unstable dyes. A lot of tFP ladies can testify that new jeans will discolor leather and light fabric; same idea.
But it's leather here, not indigo denim soooo, whatever you do-
DO NOT try to use a leather 'conditioner' right away because that could make it 'bleed' worse. What you can do, is buff the bag with clean white cotton until you don't see blue coming off. This may be all you have to do to remove the blue pigment 'dust' that wrecked your blouse.
I hate desperate measures (like acrylic top finishes) so please try this first before anything else.

I have used Wilson's Leather and Suede Protector on all my LP bags. Literally doused them in it! LOL! My Angie Aubergine Speedy has a reputation for color transfer and I swear, after three good coats of Wilson's there is absolutely no color transfer with any of my bags and it protects them from water, rain, and stains as well.
Give the bag a good uniform spray, let it dry about an hour, then do the same thing two more times for new leather bags. Make sure your hands are dry and free from lotions or moisturizers.
This stuff is so great, it does not change the color of the leather, or the surface texture (shine) or feel at all.
Good luck!
