leather or stainless steel watchband? Please advise

I'm thinking of taking a page from Skyrider's book and buying my first IWC, but I can't decide between a leather or a stainless steel band . The size of the watch will either be a mid-size or a small man's. It won't be worn for dress up events, just work and play.

What are your thoughts about each type of band and which do you think has the most everyday fashion potential. Also, if you wouldn't mind telling me what you wear, that would be helpful. Thanks so much!

SS band. leather bands on watches do not look good to me.

Wow, total agreement (if only I could spell unanimous) and my instinct makes five, so one IWC ingenieur coming my way (fed ex overnight). I CANNOT wait!

Depends on how much time you like to fuss with your watch.

Leather has the most fashion potential - you can change it based on your outfits - have hundreds of straps ranging from calfskin to stingray.

Stainless steel/ceramic always looks fashionable and can survive everything.

Don't forget to show us pics when it arrives!

Definitely the SS....not a fan of leather bands at all

Stainless. You can always have your jeweler change out the stainless band with a leather one if you want to switch it up later on down the road.

Why not both? You can keep the spare strap and change them every so often when you want a different look.

SS is more smart, but leather looks fashionable.

hey...
IWC is a very good choice.. I think Leather is better, more young and more of a statement.
You can change colors in future to whatever you want!
