So... what are everyone's thoughts on leather backpacks? Are they still in style? Think they'll likely stick around for a few years?

I really love the RM Julian, but am hesitant to take the plunge...

I have the RM Julian and love it! Although, I primarily use it when I'm out and about with my kids. I don't know how long it'll be "in style." But in my opinion, being hands-free when you need to be is always in fashion.

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find this backpack and it was my constant travel companion all summer. It's a great day bag for the city and running around. It's from Vera Bradley. I know! I was surprised, too! I have been stopped several times and asked about it.

Why is this flipping sideways?

Pretty backpack and great photo, TejasMama!

I HOPE backpacks are here to stay. I have just one leather backpack but I love it to bits - my aching shoulders and back thank me and I also really enjoy the look. I'm contemplating getting a Whistles Verity or RM MAB.

Fashion really isn't my thing. My wish for backpacks to stay "in" is purely based on availability. A couple of years back, they were nowhere to be found. Now there's style after style in different colors and leathers! :smile1:
If you like a nice backpack, then carry one. If you don't...then don't. It's that simple. What others carry isn't really important.

+1

I use to carry it in my 20s when I had to use public transportation to work. Love it..it was a suede leather that was handmade , I bought it while I was on a business trip to Singapore. I gave it to my niece. But since then I really have been wanting one. Currenlty I am lusting after Massacessi's Star Backpack.

For me, they definitely are in style!! I have twin toddlers and being hands free the more mobile they are is not a luxury but a necessity!

I just got this beauty made for me and Love it!

Massaccesi Star Back pack in grey merino leather...it is super comfy to carry...and stylish enough I not only carry it while out with my kids but also into my office because I was too tired or lazy to change bags out come Monday!

I have the Julian and love it. I also have the MAB backpack.... Eeehh..... It's ok if you wear both shoulder straps, but if you don't it's very slippery.
