Hi,
I am looking for a LP bag and I am considering a medium tote (LH) and original backpack. I look at the dimensions and basically, they should be the same size?

Backpack: 31 x 25 x 11 cm
Tote: 28 x 26.5 x 15.5 cm

Those who have both - what is your preference?

ps: I plan to get L later!

Got a Medium tote LH two months ago to carry my laptop at work. I was so pleased with it that I bought another one in a different color… The only thing with these canvas is that the corners are wearing off quite soon… Otherwise it’s very sturdy (bought a black travel one 15 years ago and except the corners that wore off soon it just begins to show its age). I chose burgundy and navy for my medium totes, so I don’t know if the lighter colours stain easily. The little extra thing is that in some Longchamp boutique you can have your initials immediately engraved in the leather flap. Love it!

with the Medium, do you feel it is big enough? or would it be better to just go straight to L?

I tried the M and the L at the boutique and had mixed feelings about the L. I thought it was “in between” a daily tote and a 24h bag. The M doesn’t give me that impression. It is smaller but big enough to fit my old 12”macbook air (my professional 13” MacBook Air also fits) + my essentials (small umbrella, cardholder, keys, gloves, plus a book). So the M is big enough for me, and I find it still cute and not bulky.

I use the medium tote as a whatever bag. It fits a lot inside and I'm not afraid of it getting dirty or stolen so if there's an occasion where I have to carry a lot of stuff (like with kids), it's my go-to bag.

For travel, I usually stuff the extensible tote in my suitcase to become an extra carry on or tote as needed.

My computers have dedicated backpacks so I don't find the backpack (original or club) to be of any use for me.

Now that I'm answering this thread I'm now thinking about selling mine haha.

I have a LLH and a MSH in addition to the backpack. My favorite is the LLH tote, but MSH is also a nice bag. I rarely wear a backpack but if you're into backpacks I suggest you get that. It fits a lot and sits comfortably on the back.
