Laureate boots sizing

Hello,
I've done a search but the results were inconclusive as to whether the laureate desert boots come up small or large? I found a pair for a good price and ordered them for my birthday, but in a 40 when I usually wear a 39 (although I've never had footwear from lv before).

I guess I'm also looking for general experiences of laureate boots owners, how you find the sizing but also wear and tear, styling, etc...

Just to update for anyone else in a similar situation wondering about sizing - the boots arrived and the 40 was definitely too big for my size 39 feet. So I would say they don't run small, and are likely true to size. I love the boots though and by inserting insoles they now fit me much better. Here's a pic I took at an awkward angle lol to get the best view of the boots before putting them away until my birthday...

They are definitely true to size or maybe a half size bigger is better. But overall a whole size up is too much
