I know there are a few threads about Launer handbags on tpf, but I haven't seen any with posts by Hermes owners. I've been looking for a pale beige "ladies handbag" now for over a year and cannot find one. I could not afford one in Hermes even if they still made such. A parchmein Piano in box leather would be divine, but it is totally out of my budget, even if vintage.

I've been looking at the Launer web site and they do make a lot of beautiful, classic "ladies" bags. I know that this brand carries the Royal Warrant and the Queen has carried them for years (am I truly worried that even if it's good enough for the Queen it might not be for plain ole me? Yikes!). They are handmade and can be done bespoke for special touches. The prices are not horrible, even with the pound going up and duty and postage.

I'm just wondering about the leather - is it horribly stiff or like Hermes box leather? What has been the experience of any Hermes carriers who have bought Launer or seen them in person?

darling i have seen them the leather is beautiful box like as in rigid and well easily scratched but they are beautifully crafted !!!

My aunts have them SO'd, they are well made.
In theory, box is box in characteristics.
Launers are a bit stiffer and thicker, which I prefer, especially for wallets to maintain pristine shape.

Does Parchamin come in box? Probably more likely to score a vintage white or beige. Some of the more anonymous looking 1950s H bags are very like contemporary Launer but you won't find anything bold like a Drag or a Piano in the Launer range. Maybe ask for SO (?)

I've only bought the Launer wallets for gifts. The Launer box isn't on quite a par with my box Hermes but then new Hermes isn't on a par with vintage H either :sunnies
