laser treatment for sun/age spots or moles

Just an update on laser surgery under my eye. I did this today. The doctor removed the red veins under my eye and a red bump near my nose. It took about five minutes. It did hurt! Like needles pricking you. And now, the area is very purple and stings. The swelling should go down by tomorrow night, I hope! I can't wait to see the results.

I think you'll feel better by tomorrow. I've had three treatments so far b/c my sun spots are so stubborn. Each time I had a little swelling and I look like I don't feel well, but by the next day, I'm good as new. Plus, I love the results. I'm getting really picky, though. I want everything gone and apparently that will take a couple more sessions.

Good luck to you!

i really want to get this done because i have a bunch of little ones on my face from being in the sun too long. are there any scars from the laser surgery? also does anybody have recommendations for nyc dermatologists that conduct this? thanks!

I'm going back next month for a whole face laser treatment to get rid of little, itty bitty veins and sun spots.

Is this the Fraxel laser? DH & I are looking into doing this.

My facialist & plastic surgeon (after much questioning) told me to not get just the spots removed? :confused1: Its supposedly changes the condition of the skin in those locations where it was used. Maybe its cause I don't use a foundation makeup & it would be too obvious.
Getting just the spots (4) removed would be so much easier. And there not that deep.

I had IPL - Impulse Light Therapy which is a form of Photofacial but no laser. Its only as good as the person who does it & if you can, insist that the doctor do it.

There are so many machines out there now its hard to keep up.

I had IPL too and I agree it's only as good as the person who does it. I had some roseacea due to Lupus and let me tell you it hurt like a b*ch it felt like someone was burning me with a hot poker and I looked like a swollen mess for days afterwards. Worth it in the end, as all the redness went away. I went back for the second course and even though she set it at a lower current, I still had the same reaction. I think I need to find to another Dr for my next go.

It does really work well. I was so pleased to have all that redness gone!

I didn't have any scars at all from the laser. Just the opposite...I think my acne scars look smaller! Sorry, I live in MD and don't have a recommendation for NYC. Hope you find a dr., though, b/c I think this treatment is definately worth it!

I want to revive this thread! I have age spots that I would love to remove. I think I read somewhere in beautysnob that even if you have it removed, it comes back? I would love to hear people's recent experience with respect to removal of age spots, particularly with IPL!

OMG!!!! I have been wanting to do this to the moles i have but i was scared. But im going to get this done as soon as I find a dermatologist. I cant wait. MY face use to be sooo clear expect for maybe 5 or 6 moles then after i had my son they popped up every where. Now I want them gone and just keep the 5 or 6 that i started with.

Mine haven't come back and it's been a year. I hope they don't, but if they do, I'd repeat the treatment.
I do use tons of sunscreen now and also Revale face cream once a day. It's made from coffee berries (beans?) and it supposedly helps fade sun spots.

Thanks, Leelee! Good to hear; I am thinking about getting this treatment, before they become larger....
