I have been on the fence about getting the mono LV Neverfull for months (!). My birthday is on Friday and I keep coming back to that one, but I want to check out some similar bags to see if I am really ready to make the investment . Any other good options out there?

The Goyard? I don’t know the name of the model but it’s the one that is on everyone’s shoulders these days. But I did watch a YouTube video that it isn’t as hard-wearing as the LV Neverfull. And it does not have the two adjustable straps like on the Neverfull. Check it out and if you still prefer the Neverfull, maybe just get it. Happy Birthday to you.

Longchamp Le Pliage. I know it may seem more casual and not very status-y. You may not even consider it to be remotely similar to the Neverfull. But hear me out. It’s large, light enough to carry enough for long days, you can stuff it with too much or you can carry just a couple small things in it, and it still looks nice either way. I throw my grocery shopping in it, or sometimes just a wallet and phone. You can throw tons of different purse organizers from other bags into it too and it works. It’s weatherproof, goes with everything, durable, and packable. I’ve spent craploads of money buying tons and tons of bags, searching for something more “refined” to serve as my every day tote. LV, Goyard Artois, sh*t I even wasted money on the Faure Le Page Daily Battle tote too. The only darn one I haven’t bought yet is that leather Chloe tote that is kinda similar to the Neverfull but the expansion system are little zippers on the sides. But. For real. No matter how many other bags I buy, I just end up using the Longchamp every day, even to work, in a somewhat formal office setting. It is simple and classic. It’s actually the best designed product in my entire closet. It will not last for decades like the Neverfull but by then you might want a different style anyway. Or you can just keep buying new Longchamps when it wears out.

If it ends up not being right for you for daily use, the worst that happens is you just got yourself a super awesome travel bag and you only spent chump change on it.

But if the heart wants the Neverfull.... you know how it goes.

Fauré Le Page is a great alternative to the LV neverful. My favorite high end tote is from Balenciaga A4 tote.

Faure Le Page is nowhere close to the quality of Louis Vuitton. I own and like both bags, I just want to mention it because unless you can buy FLP in person (vs having it shipped to your country), it will cost almost as much as the Neverfull, which makes FLP a much worse value for a lesser quality bag. For just a bit more money you can get the Neverfull. Since OP says it is an investment - just something to consider.

I agree...I have the Neverfull and the Goyard...love both, but the Neverfull is a workhorse. What adjustable straps are you referring to...the ones on the sides? They are kind of useless...if you use them to pull in the sides, they don’t stay, so that shouldn’t affect the decision.
